It worked out
Homewood Suites by Hilton Daytona Beach Speedway-AirportIt was a one night stay so no big deal. They gave us an upgraded room, to a two bedroom suite with a kitchenette on the top floor which was nice. The room was comfortable. The dog walk area in the back of the hotel is not that great. I took my dog potty breaks at the nice grass near the front of the hotel and across the street. The free breakfast was so-so. They did not have any fresh fruit, just your standard cereal, waffles, and coffee, nothing fancy. The hotel is very close to Daytona Speedway, a shopping and restaurants which is why we stayed there. We got up bright and early to go to Subifest.
Pawfect
Great Falls ParkLucy had a great time viewing the falls and hiking the trails. Very dog friendly park. The trails are terrific and easy to navigate for you and your pup. They even have the Bark Ranger program. The visitor center is currently closed for renovation. You should have a national parks annual pass.
Too Expensive to park
Carolina Mountain Trail$20.00 to just park! I don’t care how nice the place might be.
Could Be A 5 Bone Park
Steven L. Josias Dog & Equestrian ParkThey just redid the drainage in the park, which came out nice. The large dog area is spacious, lots of area for the pup to run around. A big pavilion to hang out in. But thats where the problem is, two large wet mud holes on each side of the ramp leading up. Probably a leaking pipe from the dog fountain. Definitely not enough shade trees. The small dog side, no mud holes, smaller area, little shade, pavilion but still nice. Hoses and dog fountain in front area, convenient for washing down your pup. Restroom available.
