Collector destination with lots of wiggle room
Relics Antique MarketplaceSuper friendly, welcoming people who are knowledgeable about the area and generous with treats. Wide aisles so wagging tails have room, too! A great spot for an indoor walk that also has tons of original art, Elvis memorabilia, Star Wars merch, unique jewelry and other collector pieces.
Splendidly curated bookstore!
Literati Press Bookshopamazing shop with helpful, friendly people, sorted by genre with a nice mix of foundational works and new stuff. Spectacular kids’ section! Very welcoming to our little old pibble — and the donut shop tucked into the corner is also dog-friendly and has vegan donut holes suitable for dog treats.
Tasty diner-style food
John's PlaceTasty menu of classic California diner food (our party had the pastrami burger, grilled chicken sandwich, and carne asada burrito). Spacious picnic tables and smaller two-seaters on the patio are shaded by vines and palm trees. The larger tables are pretty close to the road, so be prepared for some traffic noise.
Absolutely wonderful!
Coco.Miel Coco.BarComfortable outdoor seating with good lighting, and lovely attentive staff! Our little old lady dog enjoyed water and whipped cream while we had a delicious selection from the generous happy hour food menu. Staff are helpful and open to substitutions, and the food is fresh and fabulous.
Beautiful, but stay on paths!
Argal ParkFor those not familiar with the local vegetation—there is no off-concrete spot for peeing until you get to the fenced area (far side from the parking lot). there are some VERY nasty stickers in the low-water vegetation. that said, it’s BEAUTIFULLY landscaped, with pleasant winding paths and seating areas.
