Not what was expected

My original reservation at a different hotel had to be canceled due to a major plumbing problem the day before our arrival was scheduled. This was the only pet friendly room available at a moment’s notice anywhere near our destination, so I booked a King Studio. We arrived around 8:30pm, it was dark and raining. The front desk/reception area was dimly lit and made the place appear closed. After ringing the. bell to be let in, check-in was a bit chaotic, but overall friendly.

Upon entering the room, my daughter and two dogs were ready to leave. Dark, old, stale, one working overhead light. The one lamp on the far side of the room had no bulbs. There was one bulb in the bathroom fixture over the sink, and one in the overhead fixture by the shower. No cell service, no WiFi. Three worn out pillows and sheets with staining and holes on the ancient king size bed. No mats or rugs on the vinyl floors. Remember, it was raining, slippery and we had to keep our shoes on or have dirty, wet feet.

Dogs were not impressed and a good thing I brought their beds from home as there was no carpet/rugs to be found. The TV did work and the water pressure in the shower was great, but the tub didn’t drain and hot water was limited. As my daughter said, "It was like being in a creepy Lifetime movie. The pictures provided on any/all of internet searches showed a MUCH different, and nicer, hotel. Thankful we only stayed the one night.
