I went here expecting to sit outside. It was 64 degrees so possible. But the waitstaff said dogs inside are fine. I had a good Mother's Day buffet and my dog got a few very small pieces of bacon and cantaloupe.

I found it amazing that this national historic site allowed my dog and I to walk around this previously operating iron manufacturing plant. It was clearly marked where you weren't allowed to walk but so interesting to see the blast furnace and the slag pit and the boilers. There were some walkways with open metal grating that I had to carry my small dog over but larger dogs could go around or just not go on those sections. I was looking for some place to tour in downtown Birmingham for an intermittent rainy day and this was so interesting. No entry fee either.

300-500 year old oak tree, second oldest in Florida, was interesting. Trails weren't too long. Longest trail too muddy at the end for us. Signs along trails were good. $5/car entrance fee

Asphalt trails for easy walking. Spanish moss and dwarf palmettos were pretty. Saw 2 sandhill cranes flying overhead!

Lots of birds: anhinga fishing, tricolor and great blue herons, osprey carrying Spanish moss to its nest. Lots of bridges to stop on to survey the waters. Lovely walk.

Nice nature trails, not strenuous. Nice bathrooms. $3/car entrance fee. Suspension bridge was neat.

Dogs allowed on pier. Really long walking trail.
