A Pet Friendly-ish Hotel

Area was sketchy. Not a true Kitchenette (it seemed to be a converted closet). No microwave. Cash deposit was needed for keycard to room. Construction was occurring in parking lot with jackhammers. Rooms were not completely cleaned from previous guests. Issues with power outlets -- some seemed to be for decoration/no power, others were GFCI and would never reset. For it being a non smoking room, there were many burn marks on plastic surfaces throughout the room. Towels and linens were very basic. Several other rooms seemed to be the type that allow monthly stays. Some rooms left their doors open 24/7. No real area for dogs to relieve themselves. Had to walk out to the main road and find some patchy grass several addresses down the road.

Staff was great!

Perfect location for Griffith Park and great location for gyros (if you're into them). The staff will go above and beyond, but the rooms won’t. Perhaps we were the lucky ones that had the only room in the building with issues. The hotel offers multiple areas for our four legged family members and lots of grassy areas around the building. The courteous staff more than made up for all the room issues. The toilet had problems, the kitchen did not have a full set of pots/pans/dishes and the bathroom door did not lock. Beyond that, the overall experience went well.

Hotel is VERY pet friendly

The Casino was good enough to play in and the restaurants were tolerable. Our room, on the other hand, was a bit substandard. While the room was at the courtyard level, it did provide easy access to the grassy area for our dog Rayas. Our room did not seem to have the ability to control the temperature on the AC. The AC was always stuck between 72-76 degrees all day and night, even though we tried setting it to the coldest setting. The toilet had a very obvious leak, but our solution was to wrap a towel around the base.

The courtyard served its purpose for Rayas, as long as you didn’t go outside after 8pm. That’s when the sprinklers come on and make a mess of the area. My girlfriend even came back in one night with a nice foot-full of what she thought was mud, after running into a patch of “muddy” grass. It turned out that the “mud” happened to be from the patch of grass that had just been fertilized. A quick shower took care of odor and filth! After memorizing the schedule of the sprinklers and solving the leaky toilet, our only hard complaint was the AC. It made sleeping quite uncomfortable. I’d like to think that AC in the desert is a bit important to everyone.
