Good value

We came to Prince George for medical reasons and needed pet-friendly accommodation for us and our Golden Retriever. After research on BringFido, we chose the Carmel Inn. When calling to make the reservation, the team member I talked to asked if anyone in the party was over 60, getting us a seniors' discount.

We were travelling during a cold snap, where temperatures dropped to -35 C, so I was worried about the room being chilly and about plugging in our vehicle. The room, with a queen bed, was lovely and warm and plugging in the vehicle was accomplished by conveniently placed hanging outlets. The room had a fridge, induction hot plate, coffee make and utensils ready for use. You could hear some noise from neighboring rooms and from the diesel trucks in the parking lot.

The motel has a nearby Greek themed restaurant that serves up large servings. I opted for takeout, because I had my dog with us and was reluctant to leave her alone in the room. There is a good Chinese restaurant close by as well. For my dog, there was a fenced in off leash area that she could run around in. And the location of this property has a great deal of streetlighting around it, so I felt safe out walking her around the area in the dark. Overall, a pleasant stay, and we'll stay here again the next time we travel to Prince George.

Great location

We recently stayed at this property when in Kamloops for medical tests. Since we were travelling with our Golden Retriever, we needed pet friendly accommodation. After researching on BringFido, we decided this hotel would meet our needs.

It was easy to find, and well located for a run to the hospital. Our room had two queen beds, which meant Piper got her own bed. The room was comfortable and quiet, although I suspect there would be some noise if your room was on the highway side of the building.

There is a green space for your dogs, and, if your dog is adventurous and requires tall grass to do their business, there is plenty of space behind the property and up toward the highway. The area has a lot of light, so I felt safe taking Piper out in the late evening. This property is located within walking distance of a lot of restaurants and a short drive away from others. We'll definitely stay here again when we have to come to Kamloops.
