We are local and walk our two pugs on the trails here very early every morning. There is varied terrain to suit most preferences. The shady trail to the left of the main parking area is flat and leads to the dam. If you want flat, turn back at the dam bridge. If you like a hilly longer walk, keep going around the loop, or start counterclockwise by crossing the road bridge by the main parking lot and bear left. There are two shady river trails across from the main parking area, and open fields and hills beyond the first picnic tables.
If you want to picnic there are pretty spots with wood tables/hibachis all through the park. Two pavilions are available to reserve for functions. Highly recommend.
