I used to really like taking my dog here for daycare and I did not want to write this. However, he was recently boarded for 4 nights - when I picked him up he had a visible wound to his side. The employee helping me said that it must be new and that there were no incident reports written and that it was a surface wound. When we got home, I was able to see that it was actually a puncture wound. When I notified management the next day, they said they checked and there were no sharp items but that he “plays hard”. Regardless of how it happened, accidents do occur, the employees should have noticed this and reported it to me, not the other way around. This is the 2nd time he came home with a visible bloody wound that they didn’t notice and there was no incident report written. They now refuse to answer me after the manager asked to be told of what the vet said (Vet said did not look like a bite wound and was >36hrs old, requiring stitches, sedation, antibiotics & pain meds). I have asked that at least the unused daycare days I purchased should be refunded, since I do not have confidence that they can adequately look after the safety of what is clearly too many dogs in their care. I have filed a complaint with CO Dept. of Agriculture.
