Quincy Dog Park

Great Park, but lots of rude horrible dog owners

I love that the park is separated by size. I love that they have waste stations and astroturf and water fountains and benches. I don’t like people bringing aggressive and poorly trained dogs to the big dog area- there’s a fight at least once a week. Some dogs need medical treatment.
That said, owners will then bring their big dogs to the little dog area, which is also problematic- and people (at least in the big dog area) don’t always clean up after their dogs. You need to be the grownup and call them out. Also, a lot of these owners believe that once the dog is out of their area, the business they do in the walkway is invisible and not their problem. These are often the same people who let their dog off leash outside of the park. So they can’t control their dogs if they bolt, try to attack another fog or run into the busy parking lot. Oh, and kids- people bring little kids to the park, many are as clueless as their parents- grabbing dogs, trying to pick them up, having food with them… you can’t blame a diff if it has a horrible owner. Be careful in the large park.

A great place to treat yourself (and your dog!)

I love when Jenna’s opens up in the spring! They have your typical burgers and fries, great salads, and their fried chicken is really good- plus they serve ice cream and floats and have doggie ice creams - there are a bunch of tables with umbrellas to sit outside (it’s a takeout joint after all) and there’s bowls of water for the dogs and even a little dog fountain. Definitely worth a trip.

Great brews, tons of events, and pup friendly inside and out!

Don't let the scrappy industrial park location scare ya! BHZ is a great place to meet up with or without your pup, but I love that BHZ allows pets indoors, the clientele and bartenders are all really friendly, the craft beers and seltzers are really tasty- they just redid their menu but they also do food trucks as well you can sit outside in big Adirondack chairs, or indoors - they often hold events, comedy, paint nights, and the like, so do check them out. Right next door is vitamin Sea brewing as well, but they only allow dogs outside there.
