Great people, very dog friendly
Gallagher's Travels Bar Harbor Motel & CabinsTwo reasons I didn’t give it five bones. Location wasn’t really close enough to walk to anything and the room was a bit musty smelling (luckily the a/c helped that and it was definitely needed!)
Nice shady spot outside
Jeannie's Great Maine Breakfastgood service. not the most dog friendly in town but not bad. decent breakfast.
See the rangers at visitor center
Acadia National ParkAs usual, park rangers were the best! For great tips on where to hike with the dog on a very hot and humid day. We did the Acadia Mountain trail after taking a dip in Echo Lake. It was a very technical trail, not for small dogs or those who are fearful of uneven surfaces or heights. There was a significant amount of rock climbing. We had a blast!
Stinky room
Hampton Inn Manchester DowntownTreated my dog well and the hotel seemed nice and well located, but the room smelled so bad it gave me a headache. I won’t be back.
Just ok
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Toledo PerrysburgTreated the dog well. Hotel is a bit rundown. Make sure you get the optional blanket at check in as there isn’t one on the bed?!
Bring water!
Crowders Mountain State Parkthe hike up to towers overlook is long and hot with no water. take care of Fido and bring lots of water. the view from the top wasn’t all that interesting with electric wires and poles.
Great hike but crowded
Stone Mountain Summit Trailbring water if you plan on going on any of the loops. keep Fido on leash as there are lots of dogs and people, mostly well behaved. trail is wide and gravelly ... until you get to the stairs to get to the bottom of the falls. note - they are open stairs in case you have a fur baby who gets spooked by those. also.. there are a lot of stairs!
Kind of a dump
Quality Inn GallipolisThe sole person working at the desk (and on property) in the afternoon when I checked in was pleasant and professional.
The room was relatively clean. The bed was horrible.
The location is a dive, but the grassy area outside for my fur baby was great.
I don’t recommend it
Motel 6 Prescott AZIf you want to stay in a kennel, this is the place for you. Stinky and dirty. Floors were filthy. Sheets were suspect. It literally smelled like walking into a poorly ventilated kennel. Pay extra for someplace else.
Crowded And Hot
Northern Tail Dog ParkThere’s barely any shade for pets or people at this park. Usually pretty crowded on weekends. No water available so bring your own and a bowl for Fido.
