This is the Muriel Baxter Off-leash Dog Park. This very large fenced dog park was the site of a school until the school burned down. It formerly had soccer fields and ball fields so it’s very expansive. The remains of the school building were removed and the entire area is now enclosed for this park. Much of it is covered with grass. There is also a wooded area with a path. There is a separate small area for small dogs. It is double gated at the entry and has a water spigot. Adjacent to the park is a parking area which is large enough to accommodate people pulling campers.
This is among the largest and best dog parks we have ever visited. People clean up after their dogs. The local crowd of dogs are fantastic playmates and have attentive owners. The park is large enough to that dogs can have their own fetch space while others can break into various play groups.
Locals were very welcoming of us travelers.
Thank you, Cranbrook!

This is a fairly large fenced area on a wooded hillside. Wonderful to have an off leash area to run and play. First dog park we have found in the Yukon while traveling to Alaska from the lower 48.
So nice to have a safe and enjoyable place for our pup to run wild and free.
Thank you, Whitehorse!
Parking in the downtown area can be challenging.
