Not dog focused

The hotel allows dogs but does not offer any dog amenities. I tried to inquire at the front desk about dog restaurants, shuttle usage, etc, but the agent was unhelpful and not sure she even liked dogs. Would not recommend.

Beautiful views!

The park is a great stopping spot while driving south from Moab. There are several picnic tables for a dog friendly place to bring your own lunch. (The drive is remote without a lot of restaurant options when we drove through in February). Has restrooms.

Excellent burgers!

We stopped while driving I-70, easy access from the Interstate. Burgers are very good and quick service. Highly recommend!

Bark Ranger program

The park has the Bark Ranger program. There is the option to both drive or walk the battlefield. There are places to stop and read placards and walk trails. We went in winter and the park was not very busy.

Great dog park

We visited Leawoof in February. The size is wonderful with a nice path to walk the perimeter of the park. It has some agility apparatus that were fun to try. Due to the time of year and a recent snow melt, it had muddy spots. Bring a towel or something to wipe your dog afterwards if visiting in winter. The park is very well maintained. We are from out of town and it took us a minute to see there was a sign at the end of the parking lot directing us down a nice path to the park. Highly recommend.

Fun Tour!

Enjoyed the behind the scenes tour and history of George Washington’s pups. Very dog friendly grounds. Pups can not go into the estate but lines were super long so we skipped the inside tour. Definitely recommend!

Very dog friendly

The park and lighthouse are a must see when visiting Portland with your dog! As stated, there are several parking lots so keep driving into the park to find the closest to the lighthouse. We visited in November so it was not as crowded and autumn leaves were beautiful! In a field not too far from the lighthouse is an area that dogs are allowed off leash. This was wonderful as traveling it was good to get the energy out before walking around the grounds on leash. There was also a small stand that sold lobster rolls, so a dog friendly outside option for food. We ate at a picnic table overlooking the water, gorgeous. Will warn that there are no garbage cans, that was strange!

Perfect for overnight stay

Great place to stop when heading through the I-95 corridor. The hotel was clean and the rooms spacious. Area outside the hotel to walk the pup. Definitely a great value for those driving through town and need a great place to stay!

Great resort

The resort is beautiful and a great place to stay with a dog. The grounds have a trail that circles the resort and was great for walks. The room was spacious and we had a studio so we could of eaten in the room if the weather had been bad. The nightly dog fee is pricey, so this is not an inexpensive choice. Gave 4 bones because it is a lot to charge per night. We were asked several times about the size of our pup so they could bring a dog bed, but we never received it. No big deal for our pup, but it was their justification and then we didn’t get it.

Great outdoor patio and very dog friendly!

We called ahead to make sure full menu was served on patio and found that it was, made a reservation ahead. When we got there, the patio is large and the host was friendly and ensured we had the perfect dog friendly table in the shade. I love that the tables are not too close together!

The waiter brought a dog bowl with water when he first approached the table. Big points because our pup needs water as soon as we get to a restaurant.

We enjoyed the scenery and food. Definitely recommend!

Fun day on the water

We rented the small pontoon boat for a half-day and enjoyed the scenery and swimming in Lake Lure. Adventure Company was very friendly and the service was wonderful. We brought a picnic lunch with us and the boat had seating and a table that worked perfectly. We also brought our own doggie life jacket with a handle which was very helpful for getting our pup back in the boat. The lake does not have a lot of shoreline to let the pup take a potty break. Overall, it was a great day and we enjoyed working with Adventure Company. Definitely recommend.
