Hidden Gem

Okay, we didn’t plan our 1 night stay in Gatlinburg and thought we would just pull up to the Marriott and be all set. Nope, both Marriotts don’t allow dogs. We found Hilton Garden Inn on BringFido and we were so surprised at this brand new hidden gem. Full bar and restaurant, pool and spa with fireplace, and completely dog friendly everywhere. Our room was fantastic, clean with huge whirlpool tub (we didn’t use), balcony, and fireplace. The TV is 60” and the largest we have ever seen in a hotel.

Green space out the front door, a narrow patch but it is enough to walk across the street where the river is and we walked the sidewalk. Trash bins in front of hotel. Bring your own doggie bags for waste, there are none. No treats from front desk, but everyone was welcoming of our babies. The bar was great and had snacks. They have full breakfast in am (for a fee). Lucky & Peanut gave Hilton 5 stars on this two week road trip. Note: Great Smokey Mountain National Park only allows dogs on two trails in the entire park. One trail is near the north Sugarland entrance.

Green space next to hotel

Our pups loved staying at the Quirk Hotel Charlottesville. Treats every time we came back in from the front desk. There is a very large pet relief area right next to the hotel with doggie waste bags and very well lit. We took the stairs out which led to the back and avoided the sometimes busy lobby and right around the corner is green space. There is a nice small park about 2 blocks away that we also visited. The walk to the historic district is to the left about a 7 min walk and U of VA is to the right about 10 min. We enjoyed a 5 star steak dinner directly across the street (get the Brussel sprouts) and we loved take out from Bankog Zone. Can’t beat the location in Charlottesville with lots of cute restaurants and breweries all within walking distance.
