Dirty and Unsanitary

DO NOT BOOK HERE! Here’s my experience: After a long drive, we were excited to relax for the night before the second leg of our trip the next day. We checked in and were told that the pet fee would be waived because the front desk person “loves dogs” and was missing theirs.

We went to our room and it was filthy and smelled like food had been sitting in it for days. The chairs and carpet were so stained in mystery fluids that I could not bring myself to set anything down on them. Then, there were the hairs on the towels and sheets on one of the beds. The fridge handle didn’t look like it had been cleaned at all either. I went around the room and wiped down all the counters with sanitary wipes and still felt uncomfortable.

We tried to call down to the front desk but the phone didn’t work so my husband went back down to share about the condition of the room. We were given a room directly across that was cleaner but still had a heavily stained chair and random male whisker hairs throughout the bathroom. There were also visible drink cup stains on the nightstand that I wiped down with sanitary wipes. I contemplated reaching out to the front desk again but we were both so tired from our drive that my husband recommended we stay. “It’s just one night.”

I called BringFido’s support line and informed them of the condition of the rooms and was offered the possibility of a partial refund, if the host agreed. A few minutes later, they called to let me know that the hotel was waiving the $50 pet fee. I informed her that the pet fee was $25 per the post and that it had already been waived. She also commented to the front desk person that the fee on the listing stated $25 and was told that “it had been recently changed.” I explained verbatim what I was told and she reached back out to the front desk who, all of a sudden, remembered the conversation we’d had less than 30 minutes prior.

I was told that a message would be left for the manager, who informed my husband today at checkout that she was unaware of any issues or messages. Someone is either lying or didn’t follow through on what they said they would do. I am still waiting on a resolution.
