As we tour around the country with our 9 year old Holden, Duke, we’ve found limited opportunities to explore the National Parks with him. When we arrived in Moab, we knew we wanted to try several of the hikes in Arches but we were leary to leave Duke in the RV while we were gone. Given the intense heat and the zero cell reception in the park, I didn’t feel comfortable leaving him alone. I’m so glad we found Moab National Bark as the solution. This is a small doggie daycare facility right in the town of Moab. They open at 8 which gave us plenty of time to drop Duke off and get into the park with our timed entry pass. Owned by a husband and wife , a vet tech, pups are loved and well cared for while their owners enjoy all that Arches have to offer. You can tell they are true dog lovers and enjoy caring for your pup as if they were their own while you’re away. My husband and I got to spend enjoyable days in the park hiking, exploring, and picnicking among the gorgeous scenery in Arches, while Duke enjoyed himself at daycare. We picked him up at the end of our day and we were all tired! Very much recommend and will definitely look for another daycare as we head to Zion!
We chose to put our pup in doggy daycare at Moab National Bark for 2 separate days when we had timed entry passes for Arches. This is a small daycare facility in town run by a very caring and dedicated husband and wife team. The wife is a former vet tech which made me even more at ease leaving our pup there to play while we explored Arches.
You are able to have your dog in the car with you in Arches, but what you see from the car isn’t even close to the beauty on foot. We would have missed so much if we just drove through with our dog. Instead, he had a fantastic time at daycare and we had a memorable time at the park. We were all exhausted at the end of the day!

Since this is a state park, leashed dogs are allowed in all areas except the small visitors center. We were there in early September and the 90 degree temps were tough on us and Duke so we kept the hikes short. Valley of the Goblins has a beautiful shade pavilion pavilion overlooking the hoo doos and three sisters is a short walk down from the parking lot.

This tiny RV park is right on a gorgeous, sandy, dog-friendly beach. If you’re lucky you’ll score a beachfront site, but all sites have an ocean view. Be sure to walk the beach at low tide to see millions of starfish clinging to the rocks. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

Highly recommended by others in the area. Our pup was welcomed in the shaded outdoor area. They even had outdoor live music!

A very beautiful site with a rocky beach that has a sea geyser and other dramatic views of waves crashing against the enormous rocks.

Everywhere else it’s not. It was a very cool day so we cracked the windows open and let our pup in the car for a quick 15 minute walk across the street on the nature trail. You can see many huge trees just by driving down the Avenue of Giants.

We arrived by 9 am and were glad we did because it got very crowded on our way back and parking would have been difficult. The walk to the lake is all uphill so we were out of breath from the elevation change. The walk back to the car was much easier. Our pup enjoyed a quick dip in the lake. Later a GT Ranger told us that dogs can pick up some sort of bacteria in Ski Lake. We gave him a good bath and hope he didn’t pick up anything.
