The owner, I am assuming, was super nice. He didn’t seem to know we had a dog but it wasn’t an issue. Although we were put on the second floor it wasn’t an issue for us but may have been for someone else. The room was freshly renovated which was nice. However, it didn’t seem like it was completely ready for our stay. The overall cleanliness could have been better. The tub needed some elbow grease. Some plaster dust here and there. The bathroom could use some towel bars and a hook. The toilet was loose and rocked. And it could also use a second bedside table.

They do not have breakfast, only coffee. However, there is a Big Boy restaurant next door and a McDonald’s across the road. On the plus side, the parking lot is huge and there are lots of areas to take your dog potty. Our view was of the Cheboygan River which was nice. The room also had a small coffee maker, mini fridge and a microwave. All in all, Roxy wasn’t fussy about any of my little issues and she thoroughly enjoyed her stay there.

Lumberman’s is another portion of the Highbanks Trail Area. You can use the trail system to view Largo Springs, Canoer’s Memorial and Lumberman’s Monument Visitor Center.

We parked at the Veteran’s Memorial Park. It was a beautiful day and the walk along the Saginaw River could have been so nice. Unfortunately the park and the walkway is over run with Canadian Geese. The piles of poop along the wall took away the enjoyment of looking ate scenery. Instead it was look at ground the whole time and keep an eye on your dog so they don’t eat the goose poop.

We had a very nice room at the Bay Inn. Hardwood floors, nice size room and very clean. We were at the end of the hall, close to the back door and the area to take our dog out to go potty.

We very much enjoyed our time at Largo Springs. Roxy, our Parson Russell Terrier came with us and she loved it!!
