Stop by Books & Books at the Studios and the first sign that it’s dog friendly is there’s a water bowl outside the entrance for your pup. I was graciously welcomed in with my puppy. I began browsing around and it took me a while to realize one of the store associates I was casually chatting with was really an owner of the store, Judy Blume! I had to contain the fan girl in me that was bubbling inside. She is just a lovely lady! If you’re lucky you might find her working too! The store houses a large selection of books neatly displayed. I will definitely go back every time I’m in Key West!

As soon as we walked in the door we were offered some cold water they had at the back of the shop. Nice touch! There was a wide selection of merchandise. It was hard to only pick a few things but I had to buy a cute bandana for my Salty Dog. Will definitely come back!

While this is not a destination stop with your dog it’s a great place to stop while driving by to or from the Keys or when nearby to take in the views and get your dog their B.A.R.K. Ranger tag. I brought my Service Dog In Training and we hiked out to the jetty point to fulfill his B.A.R.K. Ranger activity. Bring water and a collapsible bowl for your dog as it’s really hot midday. There is a water bottle refill station near the restrooms. Also make sure you have some shoes for your dogs. Half the hike is wood boardwalk and the other is hard packed rock and gravel. People are fishing all along the path so you don’t want to risk a lost hook getting stepped on. Shoes will also protect their paws from the hot Florida ground surfaces like asphalt in the parking lot. Make the most of what you CAN do with your dog here!

Camped here 3 nights with my Service Dog In Training (SDIT). The park staff and campsite hosts were wonderfully welcoming. You can take your pets anywhere but the beach and buildings. While as per ADA regulations I could have taken my SDIT on the beach I opted not to but went instead to Veterans Memorial Park and Beach. It’s less than 10 minutes away and is free. It’s also a better venue for dogs anyway. Here we hiked up the Old Bahia Honda Bridge Trail. I suggest shoes for your dog and for yourself. My dog had shoes on but I had sandals as we went before heading to Key West for the day and the gravel rocks kept getting stuck under my feet.

This is a little gem of an aquarium. While it is dog friendly it was a little hard to navigate with a puppy. I had to pick him up to show him things and he’s 39 pounds. The floor is wet everywhere from the touch tanks so be careful yourself walking and I wish I had put on my pups shoes beforehand. Not much on the way of cooling off it didn’t seem like there was air conditioning but being indoors does get you a little relief from the hot sun. Lots of little tanks with all sorts of different creatures to see!

First off, the food was GREAT. I had the Ooh La La Burger and fries and it was amazing! We were seated downstairs inside and while there are ceiling fans, it was quite hot. They kindly moved us to a slightly more open table but make no mistake there’s no air conditioning to be had. My only real problem is easily fixable hence only taking off one bone on my rating. The tile floor was filthy! I mean it looked like it hadn’t been mopped in weeks or months. They can easily fix this with a good scrubbing and some maintenance. There was also a puddle of water nearby from a ceiling leak. Hopefully they’ll fix that soon too.

The food here is absolutely wonderful you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose! I’m quite fond of the Almond Croissant and the Croissant breakfast sandwiches (get the roasted potatoes). They seated us at the high bar out front (score) and moved a chair to give my pup more room. Will always come back here every time we visit!!!

It was so nice that I had to double check that I was in the right place! Beautiful clear water!!! My puppy had a lovely time splashing around.

It's not a pub it’s just a bar. There’s no food just drinks. The smell of this place punched me in the face when I opened the door. They should do a better job cleaning it.

This is a dog mom’s dream come true! A great place for your doggo to run around supervised while you eat, drink and hang out. The “bark rangers” are excellent at keeping the dogs in line and cleaning up after #2’s using a hose when necessary. My puppy loves running around and learning to socialize. Everyone is so friendly and the food is excellent!
