Fantastic with dogs!
Kipos Greek TavernaKipo's absolutely loves dogs, and when I've gone, they brought him water and gave him so much love and attention! It's one of my favorite places to go with dogs! In terms of human food, I'm somewhat of a regular here. About 90% of the time I'm delighted, and every once in a while I come on an off night. Can't figure out what the deal is with that, but I do keep coming back. My favorite thing to eat is the rotisserie chicken, one fo their cheese plates, and the grilled octopus. They also have a pretty good wine list.
Dog witness review
The Blue Note GrillI saw some very cute dogs in their outdoor area, so this is based on that alone. Their fries are amazing, but the rest of their menu has been hit or miss for me as a human. I'm not sure if they provide water and such or not.
Good coffee for good dog parents
Bean BarWe were locked for quality coffee and were surprised to find this spot. We frequently stop in Florence for gas and chain store coffee but wanted to find something local. Yelp took us here. The people who work here care about good coffee and are super friendly. I thought my cream wasn’t fresh but they explained it’s the organic creamer mixed with the acidity of my coffee and insisted on making sure I’m happy. They offered to re-make my coffee with another milk or to add a little bit sweetener to see if that helps. I chose the sweetener, and that did the trick! They also have one of these really good Italian espresso makers.
In addition to good coffee, they have a really nice outdoor patio with water, bowls for your dog and even a dog hook. There is a field with picnic tables if you step out of it further, and even a trail.
It’s $20 a person and $10 a dog
Bok Tower GardensTwo bones because they allow dogs. But woah I wish we knew it was this pricey. Not sure how many bones are fair since we couldn’t go in.
We just drove out of our way on a road trip to find out it’s not in our budget. We just wanted a 30 minute stop. :/
Decent park
Dog Park at Northgate Park - Permanently ClosedWe may be spoiled after doing a dog park road trip. For Durham this is decent. It’s big and has water except for in winter. But after rains it’s a stinky mud pit for maybe a week.
