Keep Your Eyes Out for Alligators

Myakka River State Park was free entrance on Presidents Day! There is a lovely, short nature walk loop right next to the Canopy Walk. Perfect for our flat nosed Frenchies. Your dog must be on a leash. The Myakka River is chock full of alligators.

Watch Out for Gators!

Leashed dogs allowed at this nature preserve on the Myakka River in Venice. 5 miles of walking trails, some pretty rugged, with large roots and downed trees from the hurricanes. Very pretty location, but be careful, there are some very large alligators sunning themselves along the banks of the river

Took a Black & White Dog to Browndog

Sugar dog found it to be a perfect night in downtown Northville at Browndog. Live music, pup cups, excellent food for the humans, a pet from the server. Sugar dog will definitely be back.

Nice little park right on the James River

This is a little hidden gem on the waterfront in Newport News. Not a big park, but dog friendly, paved paths, a fishing pier and a pier down to the small beach. The beach is not suitable for swimming. Public restrooms, doggie drinking fountain, and several large, newer play structures for kids. Plenty of picnic tables, some with gazebos. This park is conveniently located right off the north side of the Monitor Merrimac Bridge Tunnel, which is NOT rolled.
