Hidden Treasure
Mary Moore Searight Metro ParkThe off-leash Dog Park off 1st Street is a fun circle trail among lots of mesquite brush. As long as your dog will come when called it’s a fun time. A couple of mud puddles and a shallow stream will cool down your fur baby, but there are no water stations so bring your own fresh water.
Nice Room
Sonesta Simply Suites Austin SouthMy fur baby and I arrived an hour early, but they found a room for us and let us check in early. The staff was very nice and friendly and they put a sticker on our door saying “animal roommate inside” so cleaning staff would not be surprised. The room was clean and comfortable and Char made herself right at home. The dog walking area is a small strip of grass on side of hotel with poo bags and trash. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 bones is because the back access to the dog area has a stinky ashtray right by the door and dumpster nearby, and it was a little eerie at night. But the actual hotel and staff were 5 bones for sure.g
Awesome Park
Katy Dog ParkThis was our first visit and thought it was a wonderful park. Lots of room, lots of trees, and a pond Char had a blast romping in. She even tree’d a couple of squirrels for a bonus. I wish it weren’t an hour away, but worth the drive.
