Morgan's Tavern
Morgan's Tavern in New Bern, NC

Great town and a great restaurant!

New Bern is extremely dog-friendly. Water bowls on many sidewalks. At the birthplace of Pepsi Cola, the pharmacy lets the dogs come inside. That was huge on the hot August day we there. The staff fawned over our two large labs. We stayed there for over an hour eating popcorn and drinking PEPSIs. Then after the rest of family finished a historic tour, we walked half a block to Morgan’s Tavern. The back of the restaurant was a Pavillion with about ten or more tables. Which was perfect because while we were eating a storm came through and we high and dry. Waitstaff was great and the food was excellent. They even have aluminum trays that the dogs’ food came on. Hamburger, chicken, mash potatoes and broccoli were what the dogs ate. Inside the tavern is really cool. Tons of sidewalk shopping nearby. Parking right next to the Pavillion. We have been to tons of dog friendly restaurants and of those that only have outdoor seating this top two.

Two words: “Air Conditioning!”

We have not been to Emerald Isle in a bit and Growlers was not there the last time we were here. We decided to check it out and to our pleasant surprise, we could take the dogs inside! It was brutally hot outside and it would have been too hot for our older dogs. When we went inside more surprises - a dog behind the bar and one on the bar!!! “RC” was on the bar and he was a riot. Our dogs bonded with RC immediately. Beer was pretty good. They don’t sell much food, but the staff, the patrons and the dogs were great. Cold beers on a hot day in cool bar. Dogs loved it and so did we.

Weak effort

We drove from Maryland and were looking for lunch. Called ahead. No reservations are taken on the deck. Understood, that is most places. We pulled up, approximately 10 open tables (probably more). 4 tables taken. Went inside and they said half hour wait. No offer to let us sit in the deck. Rude staff. Went to Lawsons which is 2 blocks away. They seated us immediately and treated us like royalty. Arrogance at Persimmons. Someone needs to tighten up there staff. They lost a table of 7. I would rate them a zero.

Great view, great people, great drinks and food

Very nice view. Very, very accommodating staff. Two dog bowls immediately taken to our table. Our waitress, Jennifer, was super nice, very quick and efficient and great knowledge of the menu. Drink menu was very original. A good beer selection. Our table of 5 people and two large labs all went with salad or sandwich lunches which were excellent. Try the Rubens, the potato salad and the smashed tater tots. The Arnold Palmers are very unique and have a great twist. Plenty of room on a wrap around patio. Tables are huge but they are equipped with umbrellas. New Bern is very dog friendly.

What Nice People!

We found this restaurant on Bring Fido and thought we would try it while we were traveling north of Philly. Made reservations over the phone with the owner Sam. Very nice. They have a new, bright deck with many tables with umbrellas. Beyond the deck is a large grassy area for walking the dogs then a tiny stream and then woods. Very pleasant place to eat a meal with a nice view of the woods. Our hostess, Barbara was a dog lover and Sam the owner came out and said hello. Even the dishwasher was friendly! The food was excellent. We had flounder (superb), Philly Cheese Steak sub (excellent), Chicken Piccata (very good) Pizzaica (also great) and Filet mignon (cooked perfectly). The service was excellent. They brought pitchers of water for the dogs because it was a very hot day. The Thorndale Inn is right off of Route 30 and is not far from Lancaster. Also has a
Sports Bar attaches to the restaurant Great place for a snack or a full course meal.

Life in the Laid Back Line

Looking for a peaceful place to chill with your dog while enjoying a burger and a beer in West Nashville? Then this is your place. Two big separate front picnic areas with a variety of different seating options from picnic tables to tables to patio furniture to fire pit seating and it’s seat yourself. Also it is important to note that much of their dog seating is covered for rainy or hot days. The wait staff could not have been more accommodating. We forgot to order hamburgers for the dogs and they were able to whip them up so that they came out with our food. Great beer selection. We sampled much of their menu and it was all good. The dogs were cool in the shade and made friends with several dogs and people while we were dining. After a crazy day in Nashville it was a great place to decompress.

Our Dogs Loved It, and so did we

One of the best hotels in which we have stayed with our two large Labradors. Outside steps go directly to rooms (buildings are only two floors). Large grassy areas around all of the buildings and at the end of the complex a large pond with grassy area. Our dogs swam in the pond (not sure if that was permitted) and had a great time. A very nice outdoor relaxation area for us bi-peds also - nice pool, fire pit and paddle tennis court. This is a new, very well maintained hotel. We have a large family so we rented two rooms - both were spacious. We liked being able to park right in front of the unit a take the dogs directly into the room.

Perfect Pooch Patio

We were traveling from Charlotte, NC to Atlanta and wanted to grab lunch on a June Sunday afternoon. Bring Fido had very high rating for a restaurant on S Main Street in Greenville SC but when got there the wait for an outside table was too long due to the heat. Across the street however was the LIBERTY TAPROOM AND GRILL. We were thrilled by the patio. Completely covered with fans and very spacious, it was the perfect location for a meal with our large labs on a very warm afternoon. Even had tie downs in floor for the leashes. Staff could not have been friendlier. We are a large family and we were easily accommodated and immediately seated. The food was extremely good for pub food and the beer selection was stellar. Very cool section of Greenville. Totally worth getting off the Interstate to grab a bite (it is a detour of some significance however). They loved our dogs.
