Great pet-friendly restaurant

Great pet-friendly microbrewery! We’ve been here many times, and the staff always greet our dog warmly and bring a fresh bowl of water. It’s a very welcoming place for both people and their pets. On top of that, they serve excellent craft beers. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend!

We had such a lovely experience dining here! Our dog was warmly welcomed on the patio, making us feel instantly at ease. Our server, who happens to be a fellow doodle parent, was exceptional: friendly, attentive, and clearly a dog lover. They even surprised our pup with a bowl of bacon, which absolutely made her day. The food was delicious, the ambiance relaxed and inviting. A perfect spot for both humans and their furry companions.

The Black Dog Tavern truly lives up to its name! Exceptionally dog-friendly, they welcomed our pup with a fresh bowl of water as soon as we arrived. We were seated on the patio, which was perfect for enjoying the charm of Kingston’s historic district. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food absolutely delicious. Great meal with our pup in a charming setting

We had a wonderful meal at the Royal Hotel in Picton and were especially impressed by how welcoming the restaurant was to guests with dogs. Our pup was happily greeted with a bowl of water, and we were able to enjoy our meal on the beautiful covered outdoor terrace surrounded by the garden. The atmosphere was relaxed yet refined, the food was absolutely excellent, and the service was warm and attentive throughout.

A true gem!

Eddie's Hotel and Farm is a true gem. We stayed in the Carriage House, which was absolutely perfect for a family traveling with a pet: spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities you could need. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Alex and his wonderful team, as well as their adorable resident doodle, Ruby. The property offers plenty of open space for dogs to run and play, making it a dream for pet owners. It’s the kind of place that feels both relaxing and special!

Pet-friendliness felt superficial

We stayed at the Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake in one of their dog-friendly suites located in a cottage adjacent to the main building. The suite had all the expected amenities, but it felt quite dark and could really use a facelift to match the charm of the main hotel. We booked the breakfast-included package and were allowed to sit on the patio with our dog, which we appreciated. However, the overall vibe wasn’t especially welcoming toward pet owners. Aside from one friendly nod from a staff member, there were no special touches for our dog—no treats, bowls, or gestures that made us feel like pets were truly embraced here. The location is undeniably beautiful, and the hotel has a lot of character, but if you're traveling with a dog and hoping for a more inclusive experience, this might not be the most pet-forward option.
