Nice and welcoming
Drury Inn MarionWe stayed here on both legs of a road trip, and it was great. There's a lot of restaurants nearby. The second stay was remarkable in that we were further away from other occupied rooms, so our dog slept through the night without barking.
Nice Stop
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Des Moines West CliveDropped in here at sunset on a Saturday and had no trouble getting a room. Place was hopping with dogs, but everyone had theirs under control. Nice grass and trees in back with a waste station.
There are two restaurants within walking distance, at least one of which does take out (sadly their patio is not dog friendly).
Good stop on a road trip. Our young dog on his first trip barely noticed any noise.
Decent Stopover
Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Wichita EastFacilities were fine, though the dog walking area was a bit small. Air conditioner was *really* loud. Won't judge on noise, because it was our dog's first night in a hotel, ever. We thought it was fine.
NOPE
SureStay Hotel by Best Western CameronThat was our reaction after driving through the back of the truck stop to the broken, weed grown pavement of the empty parking lot. Exterior looked run down enough that we didn't care to find out what the inside looked like. It would have been appropriate at half the price.
DISCLAIMER: We never went inside and didn't stay at the property.
Quiet and Clean
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dallas - WylieThis was a gem of a find. Aside from being well located for visiting family, the hotel was also very clean and quiet. This was our puppy' s first road trip and he had never dealt with hotel (or even apartment) noises. Nonetheless he slept through the night undisturbed or only waking at checkout time -- and we were across the hall from the elevator!
We slept in late while we were there, but the staff still managed to slip in and clean up while we were out each afternoon. Very happy on that score.
The perimeter of the grounds is good for walking a dog. There were several waste stations and plenty of grass, shrubs and trees, all well lit after dark.
For the humans, the hotel has plenty of amenities. There is pool and exercise room, an after hours mini shop and morning breakfast (w/gluten free friendly options). Our room had a fridge, microwave, walk in shower and TWO televisions -- one for viewing from the (fold out) couch, the other from the bed.
