My husband and I and our 4-legged baby reserved an ocean front king suite. Beautiful resort with a nice layout that is very dog-friendly. We have a large, well-behaved dog and pet-friendliness is very important to us. We noticed quite a few well-behaved dogs on site. Upon check-in, we were instructed that we could bring our dog anywhere on the resort except inside the restaurants and on the pool deck.

Our dog thoroughly enjoyed being with us as we walked around the resort and walked the beach during our stay. Unfortunately, the official dog relief area was a tiny strip of grass in the parking lot. We noticed that the guests used a larger strip of grass at the end of the pool deck, before the ocean, for the pets, even though there was a sign that stated, No dogs. Honestly, we used that area too as it was much more inviting and convenient for our dog and us.

Upon check-in, the staff gave us paperwork that listed the dog-friendly restaurants in the area. That was a thoughtful touch. We later found out about the dog wall (where you can have a picture taken of your dog and posted) which would have been nice to hear about upon check-in. In addition, we discovered an area in the lobby with dog treats, water, and little bags filled with a bandana and dog treats.

The room floors, furniture, balcony, etc., looked very run-down. A renovation is definitely needed. That being said, our room was very clean and the linens on our bed were white with a lovely duvet and comfy pillows. A dog bed and metal bowls were provided upon our request for our dog.

Our dog was allowed in the lobby where the happy hour was held which was very nice. As mentioned we found an area with water and treats for him. Staff was very friendly but could be more proactive in cleaning up. Approximately 10 dirty glasses were left down the hall from us (on the floor) for several days.

All and all, we enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it as a higher-end hotel for people and their dogs (large or small). We always stay in higher-end hotels when we travel and were pleased with the true pet-friendliness of the hotel and the way our fur-baby was treated. With a few tweaks and renovations to the hotel and property, we would consider returning to the hotel for another stay.
