Decent

Quality Inn & Suites Lexington

I believe this is the only hotel in Lexington that accepts dogs. I give it a 4/5 for a 3/5 bone hotel. We stayed 3 nights with two medium sized dogs. What we liked: good location, it's in the middle of town so there are lots of restaurant and shopping options close by and it is in a safe area--I grew up here and know the area well. The grounds were kept pretty clean and the parking lot was well lit. The rooms were also pretty clean (some spots on the walls, little mold in the bathroom but overall felt clean). It had a microwave and good sized mini fridge, both were clean. There was also a coffee pot, but it was not clean.

What we didn't like: there was only one doggy station and it did not have any bags, so bring your own. There was a pathetic little patch of grass for the dogs to do their business and it had some litter and unpicked up poo. There was no Do Not Disturb sign. This means the staff were able to come into the room anytime, even when we weren't there which would stress our dogs out tremendously. One of our dogs is nervous and was stressed out by hearing the sounds of people and car doors outside the room. Some of the furniture and linens were a little worn, but again, it's a 3 bone motel. The staff seemed nice but they did not wear uniforms (making it hard to identify them as staff) and hung around the motel talking loudly and smoking outside, which I found to be unprofessional. All in all, our 3 night stay was fine and we would stay here again if we needed to.

Would not stay again

Red Roof Inn Childress

Overall, we would not stay here again given other options. After check in we inspected our bed as we always do. We found several large urine stains on our sheet, among other markings. I went back to the office and told the front desk attendant and requested new sheets, which she obliged but did not apologize. The room itself was a bit icky the more you looked, including dust hanging from the ceiling. There is not much grassy area for dogs. Check in and out were smooth, and they have no pet fee which was the only good thing about our stay.

Would stay again

Best Western Vicksburg

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is located right off the highway but is tucked up a hill surrounded by trees, which we liked. There was some grass for the dogs. The hotel room was generally clean but there was a dead roach in the corner (the reason for 4/5 stars) and a few cosmetic damages. However, the bed and bathroom were clean. The continental breakfast was good, some hot options and some bagels, yogurts, juice, etc. Check in and out were smooth. There is a $15 per dog per night charge but they didn't ask about weight or breed restrictions.
