I can’t say enough about this resort for dog lovers. Most hotels are dog ‘tolerant’. NHIR is truly dog friendly. The entire staff was so excited to see the dogs. You have to book a pet package and pay a pet fee. Totally worth it. Dogs are allowed everywhere on the grounds except by the pool and at the indoor restaurants. But lobby, common areas, outdoor restaurants, huge lawn, etc is welcome. Every guest that had dogs there were very respectful. Everyone cleaned up after their dogs, respected the space, and ensured their pups were on good behavior.
They provide food and water bowls, a bed, a toy and some treats (we had to call to ask but they were on top of it and her bowls and supplies arrived within minutes). We truly enjoyed our time there. Good live music on the weekends, the food was good. There is also a shuttle that takes you from the island to town where there are several dog friendly restaurants (patios). My only negatives about the resort: very limited garbage cans outside to dispose of dog waste bags, and the only breakfast option is a little coffee shop with some pastries which sells out of the breakfast sandwiches early and closes by 12.

We stopped here for a drink while waiting for our shuttle. Lots of space, very dog friendly. The employees all came over to say hi.

We had a great experience here. It was a hot day but they did their best to keep us in the shade and brought her cold water. They did a good job of spacing out the dogs coming in so everyone had space.
Food was good, not amazing. The bathroom was pretty gross but there are several others in the area (I didn’t realize that until later)

Good food, good vibes and very dog friendly. They made sure to give us a table with lots of shade and a bowl of ice cold water. Several employees came to say hi to our pup while still respecting when we were eating.
