Great family restaurant in Carlsbad
Village Kitchen & Pie ShoppeVery large (12 tables) outdoor patio to share with your dog. Good food and great service. Very enjoyable.
Limited seating
Brigantine Seafood RestaurantThe food was tasty and the view was great. However, there are only 4 tables outside for people with dogs. I made a reservation, but when we arrived it turns out there are no reservations for those tables. We were lucky to get one.
Large covered patio for dogs
Karl Strauss Brewing CompanyWe tried Karl Strauss after finding it on Bring Fido. It was excellent! Great foot and covered outside patio for our dog and us. Highly recommend it. It is across from Legoland, so I’m sure it gets very busy, but we did well at 1:00 for lunch.
A surprising gem!
Historic Santa Maria InnWe were traveling up the Pacific Coast Highway and made a one night stop in Santa Maria on our way to Monterey. The Santa Maria was listed as very pet friendly, so I booked it without expectations. Boy was I surprised! Our room was huge! Plenty of room for the dog's kennel. The beds were so comfortable. The historic decor of the hotel was beautiful. They had a full restaurant and bar. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone, whether they are traveling with pets or not.
Don't stay here unless you have to
Hotel SolaresWe were taking a trip with our dog along the Pacific coast. We made a one night stopover in Santa Cruz. I had difficulty finding a pet friendly hotel. No chain hotels were available. Only very old, independent hotels were near the boardwalk. So we ended up at the Hotel Solares. They did have newish mattresses, but the pillows were small and lumpy. Other than the mattresses, there was nothing good about the place. The room was in poor repair and the patio was in a virtual dump with trash everywhere. The free breakfast was waffles, cold cereal, and bagels. Coffee was OK, though. We found Santa Cruz to be pet UNfriendly. The wharf - no dogs. The beach - no dogs. The restaurants at the beach - no dogs. The whole area is rundown and old. I'll never go to Santa Cruz again.
Pet Friendly in Old Sacramento
Old Sacramento WaterfrontBringFido stated there were no dog friendly restaurants in Old Sacramento. There were two that we discovered. One was the Rio City Cafe. They have a deck along the Sacramento River that looks at the Tower Bridge and the tour boats on the river. Excellent food and good service.
