We drove our truck to the summit of Pikes Peak today and had a blast! We brought our German Shepherd with us and she had a great time. There are plenty of stops along the way, both accessible on the way up and on the way down. Our dog loved getting out and exploring each stop. I will say that I'd highly recommend that you only bring dogs that are accustomed to being in the car for long periods of time and used to various driving conditions. Our dog has grown up in the car and was a champ. But I could see some dogs being a bit overwhelmed by the constant winding and hair pin turns. When we got to the top our dog also loved walking around and joining us on the look out points. Dogs are not able to go in the visitors center but there is still plenty of space to walk them around outside. Highly recommend!

We had such a great time on the train ride! Our German Shepherd fit easily next to our seats. She was able to stand up and look out, as well as lay down and relax on the floor at our feet. The speed of the train is slow and scenic. They make a few stops to explain the history of the town and our dog really enjoyed looking out, smelling all the scents, and enjoying the breeze. The employees were friendly to us which was great. There was another passenger with a smaller dog and she held him in her lap during the ride. We had a great time!

We brought our German Shepherd with us to our visit to Garden of the Gods. She had such a great time. We stayed on the main, paved path and it was an easy commute. There's a slight incline in some places but it's all very doable. There are some shaded spots and we made sure to stop and let her get drinks and cool down. We would absolutely visit again!
