Panorama Indian Lounge

I walked in to be seated and asked about being on the patio with my dog. They had just washed it, which was perfectly fine with me. Once they knew I was ok with it, they said they would meet me at the gate with my dog. It is right near the entrance of the restaurant, so it was very nice and convenient. They say me and my dog at our own table. She was really well behaved and they were also impressed with her being so good. The chairs were so comfortable that I forgot so easily how long I was there enjoying my food and time. The food was amazing, I had the Lamb Saag with Naan. It was amazing, even my dog was loving the little pieces of naan I shared. I had the Jaljeera to drink and it was amazing. Everything is made in house. For sure you and your well behaved pup will love this Indian restaurant.

Nice walk in the woods

Melmont Ghost Town Hike

Had heard about this ghost town by many different people over the years. This was my first time going and trying out this hike and visiting the ghost town. Prior to visiting the sight I visited Washington Trails Association (https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/melmont-ghost-town-hike) to find out more about the hike and the site. The only thing about some of the instructions is when it says "The trail splits past the dynamite shed and you take the left trail to access the ghost town." It was hard to determine what the dynamite shed was. Then I was also a little confused about the take the left trail, as when I got up there it was, what I determined the remains of the old school. Instructions to get to the old town were not very clear that if I stayed to the right and followed a trail down the hill I would come to the old site. Other than that it was cool to see different old buildings in the middle of the woods.

When heading out to the trail I parked near the one lane bridge and hoped the guard rail to go down a steep trail. They have a metal rope going down. Used it in certain spots going up and down the hill. About half way going down I had to take my dog off the leash to allow her to pick and choose her way down. Oh and it is a dog friendly trail. I had my dog with her regular leash and a field collar. Most of the time she was just using the field collar and walking ahead of me. I would recommend when being around the remains that your dog is leashed, but other than that well mannered dogs off leash is fine.

Bonus point about this trail, is that it keeps following the river for a long ways. There are a few forks in the trail and I kept always going to the left and kept following the river. The hike is an easy to medium in skill. When I went it was mid morning heading out on the trails, and then heading back in it was early afternoon. Weather was nice and the trails were very nice. Overall it is a great trail to start on for new comers.

Best Dog Park Ever!

Hounds Hollow Dog Park

Was recommended by a couple of people to check it out, as it wasn't too far from where I live. The drive wasn't long, parking was easy. Enough parking when I went mid day on a Saturday. There are stairs to the dog park along with a ramp for anyone who has a disability or strollers. Double gated and rules are posted as you go in. Right away you can go to an open spot that has dog agility equipment (to the right) or to the left you go down a little trail and there is just an open field like area. There, is a gravel tail that follows the fence line, for you and your dog to walk. Also, there are some off trails between the agility area and the open field area. The area is All one level, no worries for hills for any struggles with wheelchairs or strollers. All dogs and humans were really nice. This made working through some bigger dog issues for my smaller dog easy. All that I talked to were really supportive and helpful. Oh and in one post there was mention about no water dishes, when I went, I went prepared just in case, but here were two dishes full of water the whole time. Great visit overall

Looking to teach your dog to Hike?

Viking Dog Park

Easy to find. Parking you do have to walk a little bit to get to the entrance of the dog park.
Right at the entrance there are rules for the park. As you enter it is double gated. The first gate has its latch, the second one doesn't. As I was entering with my dog, a smaller dog went right under the gate to greet mine while we were still entering.
There is some seating inside and outside the park to enjoy some time to talk with others.
There is no agility equipment for dogs, but some of the tree roots and trees that have gone over make up for that. There is a decent size area where you can play ball with your dog in. Oh and if you are looking to teach your dog to go hiking with you on trails, the trails around the park are perfect for that. Lots of logs to go over, hills to go up and down, even some strep stairs.
There was also water and water dishes available for dogs while they played. It is also very well shaded that you don't have to worry about how long you stay there.

People that might have a mobile disability this might be a park not to visit as there is a bunch of terrain.
All people and their dogs were all really nice and friendly.

Room with deposit fee

Inns of California Salinas

Room is clean and nice. When you stay here, yes they have a per dog per night fee on top of the room amount. ALSO plan on having cash as a room deposit. They say it is just in case of anything to go wrong because the animals mess the room up, and will be given back when you leave. Owners/mangers live on property so it was easy to come in late based on traffic.
If you have dogs and go to check out, do remind them about the deposit so you can get it back!

Great Experience

Residence Inn by Marriott Salinas Monterey

The staff was all very friendly. Room was nice large and clean. When we went to breakfast staff was great and informed me that dogs were not allowed in the dinning room area. I asked her where they were allowed as I read in all the policies from the trip, even with fees or no fees that they were not allowed to be left alone in the room, and I asked where I was supposed to leave them. She informed me that they could be left alone in the room alone for breakfast or short times! This was great. I thanked her afterwards and explained the situation of why I brought them and we talked for a sec about them not just being Pets but also family too!
Great experience all around! I really recommend this place!!!

Ok

Motel 6 Salinas CA - North Monterey Area

The room was clean for the most part. Dogs would lick things that might have had left over stuff. Staff was nice they asked if we needed dog bags or treats when we checked in.
There were guest that checked in late (after 9:30pm our bedtime) and the noise woke the dogs up and they would bark or make noise. Was an ok place for maybe a quick stay over if you can't find another place to stay.

Great trail

Humber Park

Trail has some challenge if you and your dog are up for it. Parking is nice and easy to find once through the gate. Says you need a pass for the park as it is a national park, but we didn't have one and all was good, noticed others didn't have one either. Great workout!!!
