Good Location And The Best Around!

FIDO's Backyard

We drove from Morgantown (30 minutes away) just to come to this dog park. The ones in my area are awful so we figured we would give this one a try and see how it is! We were really impressed as to how much nicer this one is compared to the ones in my area. There are two large dog sections and one small dog section. I believe it is about 4 acres total. There is even a little doggie water fountain which we don’t have in my area either! The first part of the large dog section is on a slope but if you walk down to the second large dog section, it’s a flat grassy area! My dog absolutely loved running around in there. The only downfall I saw and the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars was because the fence in some sections looks older and is starting to lean a bit making the durability of it not the best. On another note, the address listed is not correct. After you get off the Downtown Gateway exit, go straight through the stop light. You will go past the MCPARC building. Make the first right. That road is a dead end but you will make a left turn heading towards the park. After you pass the swimming pool, turn left into the parking lot and in the right hand side back corner, you drive down that road. After that, you will see arrows pointing you to the dog park on the signs from there. There is parking just right out from the dog park. Super easy access when you get there! Compared to the dog parks where I live where I live, it was 100x better! You can tell the people care a lot more about this one and at least make an attempt to keep it up!

Used To Be Nice, Not Kept Up Anymore

Stanley's Spot Dog Park

This used to be a decent place to take your dog until it stopped being kept up. It’s literally just a dirt hillside now. We stopped going there last year due to the lack of responsibility on the other dog owners behalf. It seemed like there was constantly an aggressive dog there that the owner was never paying attention to. We decided to go back and try it again yesterday to see if anything has changed. There were 4 other dogs in there. My golden retriever has not one mean bone in his body and has never met another dog or person he doesn’t like. As soon as we got inside the fence yesterday, one dog immediately started trying to hump my fur boy and another one immediately started to attack mine biting him straight in the neck. You would think the owners of these dogs would intervene? Nope. Not a single one of them. We immediately left because my dog was so scared. The only thing this place has going for it is that there’s only one other dog park in Morgantown and it’s just as bad, if not worse.
