Short Hike, but Amazing Waterfall!
Madison Falls TrailAlthough this is a short hike to the falls, it is well worth it. The entire path is paved so it is wheelchair accessible, and you can bring dogs on a leash. Pit toilet is located at the parking lot.
Best Burgers
The RailGreat location across from the pier, which serves the best burgers in town. This is a bar, so you can't have dogs inside the establishment, but you can sit out front with your pooch while you dine or in the back where they have picnic tables. Super friendly, dog loving staff!
Best Hotel in the Area
Red Lion Hotel Port Angeles HarborStayed here with our lab in August (peak season), so the room rates were very high. Our pet friendly room was in the building away from the water with an exterior door, and our stay was fairly quiet. The room was also fairly large and acceptable, with laminated floors. Lots of restaurants within walking distance (I don't recommend the hotel's restaurant). The parking lot was well lighted at night in case you need to take your pooch out to potty at 2am (like I did).
Dogs on Outdoor Patio ok!
Smuggler's LandingThe food is just average, but they allowed us to have our lab sit with us on the outside patio.
Good food and coffee
Sweet Retreat & EspressoI stopped here to get some breakfast and coffee to go. Got the breakfast burrito which was yummy and an Americano which was good too. Very friendly owner. It's a takeout place, and seems busy all day long. Nice doggie water bowl at the front of the shop.
Wonderful peaceful Stay
Earthbox Inn & SpaLocated within walking distance to the restaurants and ferry terminal in Friday Harbor. Makes for a great base for exploring the island. The staff was extremely nice and easy to communicate with via texting. The grounds are as clean and beautiful as you've seen on their website. Our dog-friendly room was very clean and surprisingly spacious with a fridge (super cold), microwave, and Kurieg coffee maker. Great place to stay when traveling with a pet. And best of all, we had an extremely quiet stay!
Great Mexican Food, and Dog-Friendly
Casa BonitaThere seems to be very few places in downtown Vashon where you can eat with your dog. This location has outside seating and allows dogs to sit by your table (they even have dog water bowls under the tables!). Staff was very friendly, and quick with our drinks and order. Very good mexican food.
Limited Seating Outside
Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie TheThis coffee shop is in a historic building with street parking. I don't believe dogs are allowed inside, but we were able to sit outside at a table on the deck with our black lab. They have benches, one large and one small table outside the shop. The coffee was great, and they also have baked goods. Lots of people stop here for coffee since it's on the main street located just south of the downtown area.
Nice outdoor patio
Masa Mexican Kitchen & CantinaAte here on a Friday evening. The patio is dog-friendly, and 4 people had their dogs with them. Food is very good (Tex-Mex style) and the staff were very friendly.
Dog friendly, but slow service
South Whidbey CommonsThis cafe has a large area for outside seating where you can have your dog with you. The cooks here are students in training so there is a longer wait time for your food. My Pad Thai meal came after waiting 30 mins, but my wife's street tacos took another 10 mins and we're cold. So, not the quickest service or the best food.
Favorite Cafe in Langley
Useless Bay Coffee CompanyWe love this coffee and cafe. We can bring our black lab and sit at one of the outside tables for breakfast and lunch. The food is great. The only downside is that during busy times the wait for your food can be up to 40 mins. They also close at 4:30p on most days. Very friendly staff.
Great Food
Courtyard CafeWhile visiting the Port Townsend historic downtown district my family stopped by the Courtyard Cafe for a light lunch. We picked this place because they allow dogs on the patio area, and we had our black lab with us. We ended up eating in the back area of the cafe where they had picnic tables on a grassy lawn.
This place mainly has sandwiches, salads , and soups along with some fresh baked goodies. I ordered the 1/2 chicken pesto sandwich with a cup of navy bean soup, while my wife opted for the 1/2 apple walnut salad and cup of clam chowder. Both meals were delicious, especially the clam chowder which was really creamy. This was definitely a good choice for lunch, as we got a good healthy meal that tasted great. I didn't get a chance to try their baked goods, but I bet they were equally tasty! I'll definitely come back here again in the future.
Very Dog-Friendly Cafe
La Conner Brewing CoMy family of three (and black lab) were visiting the waterfront area of La Conner and we stopped in at the Last Conner Brewing Co for lunch. Fortunately, this place had patio seating in the back which accommodated dogs. So when we ate our lunch our lab sat quietly by our table. One of the servers kindly came over with a doggie water bowl. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich (with a homemade root beer) while my wife got the fish tacos. Both meals were very good.
The staff was super friendly and the place was very laid back and relaxing. I'd definitely stop by again for lunch or dinner the next time I'm in the area. The only negative was that you don't have a view of the waterway as with the other cafes in the area, but that was fine with us since it was cloudy and windy that afternoon.
