Great Hike!

Great hike for anyone that wants to do a quick (2 mile) loop or if you’re looking to make your hike an all-day adventure.
Trail signs say to make sure your dog is on leash, but my guy still had a blast.
As a Long Island native I’ll agree with other comments that this trail is most likely covered in ticks during the warmer months (like everything on LI) due to the fact that the trails lead you deep into the forest. However, during the winter months I’ve found the threat of ticks to be next to nothing.
I also suggest looking up a map and brushing up on your trail blazing markers before heading into the hill trails. These trails are very well labeled if you know what to look for!

Could Be Great!

Pros: The park is split into two sections small dogs (under 25) and large dog (over 25). Both gated areas are large with plenty of room to run. The large dog side is also equipped with an obstacle course which was fun to train on.
Cons: The park is dirty. If owners took the time to properly clean up after themselves as well as their dog the park would be great. Also, all the garbage pails are located outside of the gated area, so even if you do clean up after your pup you have to make multiple trips or hold on to poo bags until you exit. There are a lot of leftover toys which can both be great and gross since the area is covered in poo and cigarette butts.

All in all, if you’re planning on give your pup a quick rinse down when you get home

Great Area!

Great area where you can let your dog have an off-leash run and a round or two of fetch! Not the biggest stretch of beach, but plenty of space if you’re looking to take a walk and enjoy the harbor!
