Downtown Location

Lucy's Doggy Daycare and Spa

We stumbled upon Lucy's while we were in San Antonio on a little road trip. Our hotel was not as pet friendly as we initially thought, so we were looking for a place for our small dog to stay for the day while we went to the zoo and the caverns. They made sure to get a copy of her vaccination records from our vet before she was allowed to stay, which made me feel more secure about leaving her around other dogs. They spent a few minutes acclimating her before allowing her into the communal doggy play area, and called me right away to update me on how she was interacting with the other dogs. She was assigned her own "suite" for when she was not in the small doggy play area, and they took instructions on when and how much to feed her. They had webcams on their website where we were able to check on her throughout the day, a great comfort, since we've never left her anywhere before. They also gave her a little birthday party and sent us a video of it, since her birthday was the next day! Since it was her first day to stay, they only charged us $15, which was so well worth it. I'd have gladly paid full price ($28 I think). They even sent her home with a little report card detailing how well she ate and played during her stay, with a complimentary dog cookie attached. We were very impressed with the entire experience, Nd wish we had a Lucy's in our area!

Very Pet Friendly

Hilton Houston Post Oak by the Galleria

This hotel and its staff are very pet friendly! We felt extremely welcome with our small dog, and she was more comfortable in this hotel than any others we stayed in across Texas throughout the week. They have a very large grassy area/dog park across the drive way of the front of the hotel, with trash cans and waste bags readily available. The pet fee was $50, which we were happy to pay. Our room was spacious, airy, and clean, with great nighttime views of the area. Though we were in a bustling area very near the Galleria, the traffic noise was muted inside our room. We would definitely stay here again!

Located On the Riverwalk

Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk

This hotel, not to be confused with the Drury Inn and Suites (which is nearby), is conveniently located on the Riverwalk. We had to wait at least 20 minutes to check in, though there were only 2 pepple in line ahead of us. The pet fee was $35, but other than that no details concerning their pet policy were explained to us. Only when we had to go to the front desk to request service because our toilet would not flush were we told that it is "illegal" to leave our dog unattended in our room. Other than this staff did not acknowledge her in any way. There's no grassy area immediately nearby, but my husband was able to find a nice area across the street at the Homewood Suites, at their Riverwalk access. The room was old, smaller, and unremarkable, but clean. There is no self parking, but cars are valeted for $23/day. Though we loved the location, due to price and not feeling as pet friendly (or any other kind of friendly) as other hotels, we would likely stay somewhere else next time.

Great Value

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Woodway - Waco South

We stayed here with bbn our small dog as we were passing through Waco on a road trip. There was a $20 pet fee, but that is by far the least expensive we've encountered. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and nice. Conveniently located in the downtown area if you're planning to visit the Silos District. We used the small grassy area to the side of the hotel for potty breaks.
