Mixed feelings
Taylor County TaphouseI was excited to try this place based on another review. An air-conditioned patio mid-September in Texas sounded wonderful. Unfortunately it was a little too good - Pepper and I froze! To top it off, my meal just didn't work either. It's hard to ruin a French Dip, but they did. The Ah Jus was so greasy it tasted like juice skimmed from the top of chili. On a positive note, they were pet friendly.

Nice patio
Humphrey Pete'sBased on another review, called ahead to confirm Pepper would be allowed on the patio. Not an issue. Sign says only service dogs but that's for inside. Use the (right) side door to get to the patio. Staff was friendly and brought water for Pepper. Now the food. The Triple S Burger was AAAmazing! Mango/habanero, garlic aioli, and smoked gouda. YUM! Finished the meal with their Blackberry Cobbler and ice cream. Worth stopping if you are passing through Brownwood.

Cool and Refreshing Patio
Fuzzy's Taco ShopGreat pet friendly patio near the water. Optional pet specific area a few steps away with tables and dog statue under a tree.

Friendly 😃
The Friendly Spot Ice HouseGreat outdoor bar with eats to bring Fido. Pepper enjoyed Tuesday's half priced nachos and preseason football on the inflatable big screen. We moms also enjoyed the cocktails on tap. Plenty of good seats and street parking.

YUM!
Cypress Street StationGreat service for those with two or four legs! Caitlyn brought Pepper water and followed up later with a treat and plenty of attention. Try the Louisiana Dip on the lunch menu and a Prickly Pear Lemonade.
