Friendly Staff, Delicious Food

The Big Easy

We brought our five-month-old puppy here for her first outing. The staff was very kind to both her and us. Since she’s a puppy, she jumped on our server a few times in excitement before we could calm her down again and our server was very understanding and kind to her. Our server immediately brought out a bowl of water without us even asking. Also, the food was amazing! The patio tables were closer together, so it might be more challenging if you have a very large, active dog. Otherwise, definitely recommend!

Beautiful Beach

Honeymoon Island State Park

My husband and I took our 5 month old puppy here for two full beach days and loved it. The beach was clean, beautiful, and wide with plenty of space to spread out (a challenge at other nearby beaches). The water was shallow for a long stretch, so we felt super comfortable taking her to swim for the first time. Dogs are required to be leashed, but that made me feel more comfortable because dogs wouldn’t be running up to us uninvited and possibly startling our puppy without introduction. Almost everyone kept to the leash rule from what we observed. Other beach goers were super friendly and our puppy got to meet and play with a lot of dogs and people. There is an $8 entrance fee, but since it’s a state park and so nice, we were happy to pay. There are several dog washing stations and changing rooms/restrooms for humans. There is also a cafe that serves food and alcohol (alcohol has to be consumed on the cafe patio as it is not allowed on the beach). Great beach for both humans and dogs. We will definitely be coming back.
