Great food and drinks!

Spirits on Bourbon Street

When we arrived, we asked if they allowed dogs. we were told we could bring him inside or on the courtyard (note: he was in a stroller). We went to the courtyard, because it was a little crowded and the band was a little loud. The courtyard is really nice. We sat closer to the door and could feel the air conditioning being blown around by a fan. We went during the heat wave, but it was in the evening when the weather was actually fairly nice. We ordered the Resurrection drink, the fried pickles, and the alligator bites, and they all were excellent! (They had the best fried pickles I’ve had in a while!). Would definitely go here again!

Not dog friendly!

The Carousel Bar & Lounge

When we saw this listed on here, we knew it was too good to be true. We called to verify if they allow dogs in the Carousel Bar, and they said they do not. It should be a 0 out of 5 bones rating, but it wouldn’t let me not give a bone.

Love this place!

Oceana Grill

We just ate here for the first time, and it was amazing! First of all, it’s August in the middle of a heat wave, and when we asked about bringing our dog in, they sat us inside! Our dog was in a stroller, so we just parked him near our table. I love that they let us eat inside!! Second, the food and drinks were so good and the portion sizes were huge! I got the blackened chicken poboy; my sister got the fried shrimp poboy, and our mom got the crawfish etouffee. Their hurricanes were excellent! They even put something in it that makes “smoke” come out of it. It was neat. I can now see why this place always has a long line. We will definitely come here again!

Great find!

Copper Monkey Bar & Grill

We were looking for a place to eat that was near our hotel. This place was a street over and wasn’t too busy, so we decided to take a chance. Before we went in, we made sure they were dog friendly. They enthusiastically welcomed us and our dog. They said we could sit anywhere (inside too!), so we asked if we could just sit in their courtyard outside. The courtyard was small but cute and cozy. The food was great and they gave large portions. We will definitely go here again when we are back in Nola!

Nice hotel!

The Royal Sonesta New Orleans

We stayed here for a second time in early April. It was great, as usual, and this time we asked if our dog Finn could go into the courtyard and by the pool with us. Staff said he could as long as he was on a leash. Finn loved being in the courtyard. Also, we went to pick up food and drinks at Desire (the oyster bar in the hotel), and I was waiting outside while my mom and sister ordered the food and drinks, and the host told me I could bring my dog in. I held him while we ordered and we ate our food and drank our Hurricanes in the courtyard. It was so much fun!

Favorite hotel in OC!

Paradise Plaza Inn

We have been staying here for the past few years, in October and sometimes in June. The location is great! When we stay in early October, it’s usually the time of the car show, so we get to watch the cars drive on the boardwalk. Also, dogs are allowed on the boardwalk and beach, so we can just walk outside and enjoy the boardwalk and beach (the weather is still nice in early October). We always get an oceanfront room. The view is amazing! Our dog Finn loves to lay on the balcony. The rooms have a microwave and a fridge. It is the perfect pet friendly hotel!

Great pizza and fun place!

Coal Fire

We took our dog, Finn, here and it is a great restaurant! They have a nice patio. The tables are covered with either umbrellas or a canopy off the side of the building. The waitress brought water out for Finn. All
of the staff that came to our table were really nice! Finn barked a few times, and they were understanding of that. The pizza was really good! We will definitely come here again!!

Call before going

45th St. Taphouse

I wanted to eat dinner and bring my dog here during my OC trip last week. So, I called them to make sure they do allow dogs (which I usually do before going anywhere), and they said that if I bring my dog, I’d have to sit in the parking lot area (they had tables set up there). I have seen photos of dogs on the patio, so I do not know why I would have to sit in the parking lot with my dog. This could possibly be due to COVID-19 and the fact that the inside dining area was closed, but if they allow dogs on the patio any other time, they should allow them now. So, if you want to go and sit on the patio by the water with your dog, make sure you call first and see what the rules are.
