Beautiful Day at the Mohawk Park
Mohawk ParkMohawk Park is north of the Tulsa Airport, at same entrance road as the Zoo. There are several areas with open green spaces and shade trees for sniffing and picnicking. One area we stopped and walked included cast-fishing lakes, frisbee golf, walking trails (saw deer and horse tracks, Canadian geese, and the line). No entrance fees. dogs on leash, and clean up after your pooches. The Oxley Nature Center at far end of park, unfortunately does not allow dogs.
Great Brew Pub for us & our pups
Happy Basset Brewing Cowe were traveling here for a dog show event and had time to venture out for a brew. This was the perfect place! They welcomed us and our furry dogs, gave them treats, and served wonderful IPA and blonde pale ale. They have a fenced in yard for the dogs, too. They have added food, usually BBQ. They have bingo nights, live bands, and other special events. Address has changed due to remodeling the original—now 510 SW 49th St., Topeka, KS 66609. Staff, manager and waitstaff were friendly to us and our hounds.
Not great for a dog adventure
Osage Prairie Trailthis is a trail primarily for long distance bike rides or running. it might be okay for running distance but not for us. Also, directions to parking anywhere weren’t available. It is a rural, rustic area.
