Love to take my dog, Scout, out to parks and stores.

I really wanted to like it...

Misty Pines Dog Park

The pond area is very misleading, it looks like it’s fenced in, but unfortunately it is not, and I found this out the hard way. There are trails that lead from the main check-in building down to the pond, that you have to cross a road to get to. Thinking the area was completely fenced in, I let my dog off the leash to go swim. He ended up running away up the trails and across the street before I could get him back. I think the park has great possibilities, but there are certain aspects that don’t seem so safe. If you have a better recall with your dog, you’ll probably be fine. I know for me, I don’t feel 100% safe letting my dog be off leash there.

Pet friendly, nice trails!

Pittsburgh Botanic Garden

Been there twice and it’s a great place to take my dog for a walk. There are a bunch of trails so you can go about the gardens however you would like. They don’t have trash receptacles on the trails so your have to carry your dogs waste with you (not a bad thing, just an FYI).

Love it

Lucky Paws Dog Park and Pool

The pool and grassy play area is all fenced in so you don’t have to worry about moving around to different locations! Staff is super kind and helpful as well!
