Meets basic needs

I have gone to Saco River Motor Lodge for years but always stayed in the Suites. This visit was just me and Zeke again in the standard motel room with 2 double beds. It’s a nice quiet area close to everything. The price is relatively cheap for that area and for being pet friendly. Staff are very nice and helpful. The room was basic but clean. The rooms themselves are old so be aware that it is again basic and in need of some updating. However, the unit was clean and the double beds room has a fridge and micro which I needed.

I agree with another poster re: the carpeting and a/c. My nose clogged up the first morning, however I don’t have any allergies so the stuffy nose resolved quickly. However, if you have severe allergies/asthma or are extra sensitive to subtle mold/cleaning smells this is not a unit for you! Also I checked a/c and the filter had not been cleaned so I washed and dried it. However, regardless of Covid, I always Lysol spray the air and spray/wipe surfaces (eg handles, light switches, remotes, toilet, sink) regardless of how clean a place appears.

I have always liked this motel and suites. The area and price can’t be beat. It’s basic but clean. I prefer the suites but just be aware of older furniture and carpeting in basic rooms. This place is just plain-basic and old but is spotless and in a great location at an affordable price. However, you do need to drive to North Conway for consistent internet connection if needed. Also my iPhone SE had inconsistent internet connection regardless of the WiFi.

The shower pressure was not good in my room. Not sure if same in others. I found out this trip that we were located very close to Fryberg, ME so went down that way for a change. Try out the Jockey Cap Country store for coffee and pastries. FYI. Make sure to call after booking as they did not have me in a “pet friendly” room and luckily I was able to switch at the last minute.
