The hotel is old, quaint, small, and charming. Does not serve breakfast and you take your life in your hands crossing a very busy street to get to the Riverwalk. BUT the worst was the damage fee of $50 that was on my bill. Our 11-year old 10-pound Chihuahua with arthritis was with us. They accused us of allowing her to make the scratches and gnawing marks on the door. She was not left in the room for even a minute. Will never stay at this place again. Advice: have a walk through of the room when you check in and one before paying your bill. Trust nothing.

The La Quinta was clean and offer3d the basic amenities. The breakfast was mediocre but manageable. The only drawback was the location. There was a 15-20 minute walk to the Riverwalk. That was acceptable during the day but we were vigilant after dark because the homeless were readying themselves for the night during the evening and after dark. Would I stay there again? Maybe
