Our usual spot
Wynetka Ponds Bark ParkThis is a pretty good dog park. Most people are good about keeping an eye on their pups. There is not a lot of shade and one side borders a busy road, but there’s ample parking and it’s a pleasant, short walk between the parking lot and the park. Be aware that owners are not always 100% about picking up after dogs, so watch your step. If your dog is shy, avoid the pavilion, because dogs can feel cornered there. It gets a little crazy on weekends. Still, it’s a pretty good park.
Spacious and interesting
Englewood Canine CorralMy shy dog really liked this dog park the first time we visited. We went at 3 pm on a weekday, so it wasn’t very crowded. Most dogs and owners were hanging out in the shade. One long side of the park borders a creek and the other is next to a well-trafficked bike path, so there was a lot to sniff and see. The dogs we encountered were friendly but not insistent. We will be back.
