Not great but it was ok

Basecamp Boulder

Stayed here with my pup on our three week long road trip. The hotel had a neat theme and lots of amenities— but you’re unable to use pool/hot tub/rec room/fire pits if you have an animal since they cannot be left unattended. The bed was okay, linens weren’t my favorite and the room was pretty humid. No fridge/freezer, you are given coolers instead. The bathrooms need a ton of work. There was paint peeling from the walls in the bathroom and all the shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty upon arrival. No phones in the room either. There is no grass aside from a 5-10 min walk away. Because of my dog’s food, I noticed there were lots of ants as I was leaving. Theme is cute but also seemed a little thrown together— the curtains were strange and a few lights were not working or had blown bulbs. The lack of grass makes it a lot less dog-friendly than advertised, and as always, white linens aren’t very dog-friendly. It was O.K. for two nights but wouldn’t stay longer.

Heck no!

Historic Whispering Woods Hotel & Conference Center

This place was super sketchy. it advertises as non-smoking and a fancy conference center but neither were true. My room was totally dirty with hair, change, trash, and dead insects on the floor. There was a direct door to the outside from my room but the actual deadbolt was broken and was replaced by some makeshift deal. The phone did not work nor several appliances. Fleas in the bathroom, and dead bedbugs in the bed. We had driven 12+ hours today but there was absolutely no way we were sticking around and ended up driving another two. Totally worth it to be in a clean and comfy room with a locking door and no smoke or shirtless men outside. Stay away from here, it’s really not worth it at all, even at $100 a room.
