Pros and Cons
Doubletree by Hilton Cleveland Westlake4 bones for the location, very close to lots of shops, restaurants, and Lake Erie even though it's best to drive there. You could potentially walk to Crocker Park to save on parking (25 cents for 10 mins meters!), but depending on the day/time, it could be unpleasant. Another 4 bones for the staff.
1 bone for the room not being ready at 5pm(?) when we arrived after driving all day. (Check-in is posted for 3pm.) They gave us another room, but it was really far from the exits for having a dog. Ultimately, I waited for the original room and am glad that worked out.
3 bones for the actual room. I booked the available suite and it was nice and spacious, but it was like being in a closet light-wise. There just aren't enough lights. I think it could use a floor lamp, a couple of sconces, and/or replacement bulbs with higher lumens. The rooms are sooo dark you don't realize what time of day it is. You can get some light from the pool area, but then the pool is so close, you don't want people looking into your room.
Also, I didn't end up using the pool, but the pool area could use ventilation. The strong smell of chlorine really hits you if you're poolside since you get a second door entry. I would say it could get noisy if there were more people using the pool area. But, during my stay, it was calm and peaceful.
Almost perfect.
Atlantic Oceanside DeweyEasily accessible to the beach, nice pool, upper deck, and parking too. We got a double room which looked about a year or so into a previous renovation, but it was everything we needed (clean) and soooo close to everything. The tub was slow to drain (so we didn't use it for our short getaway), the walkway to the room is a bit tight and smelled a bit funky. Overall, it was great for our short time there and would definitely consider coming back!
