What can be said. Swiss/German inspired cuisine in an 1880s hand dig wine cellar. I am pressed to find more ambiance in any restaurant we have visited.
We enjoyed the beautiful fall drive up to the winery and restaurant, November in Arkansas is beautiful. Twists and turns eventually reveal the easy to find entrance to the property. Ample gravel parking, with “street” parking by the restaurant patio.
Was promptly greeted by one of the friendliest host who inquired if I was interested in lunch. Informed the host about our dog “Wiggles” and she whisked us outside and quickly set up our table and delivered a bowl of water. After a required petting session with Wiggles, our waitress came and explained dishes, took our order and grabbed our bottle quickly. A subtly buttery Chardonnay was the perfect pairing for a sausage sampler, quiche Lorraine and Ruben sandwich. All delicious, especially the quiche, do not skip the quiche.
But nothing compared to the a homemade apple dumpling with vanilla ice cream, ( our waitress’ fav, and mine too now), it was indeed the perfect cap to a beautiful day, at a beautiful place. Wiggles wanted me to add the sausage sampler gets two paws up, she loved them!
