Home2 Suites by Hilton Williamsville Buffalo Airport

This is a shared property with their Tru brand hotels. First floor room and right by a side entrance door for easy in and out with the dog. Not too much noise, a few planes but the airport is not that busy too be annoying. Lots of space around hotel and the surrounding area to walk dog and the poop station while broken on top still had the poops taken away. Property was clean and guest staying made nice use of the Tru lobby and the shared pool. This was a convenient place for us as we were attending a dog sport event at Premiere Dog sport facility. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Like the kitchenette as it makes having a place for the dog food handy and convenient. Would stay here again.

Great stay

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Binghamton

Stayed over at Doubletree one night. King bed room was HUGE. Hotel was busy with something going on in ballroom. Use the rear entrance as there is lots of parking and the elevator lets you out right near the entry so you don’t have to worry about avoiding crowds. There is a river walk/park running behind the hotel which is a nice walk and there is some green space. All in all the hotel was quiet and the room was comfortable and clean. Would stay here again.

Nice, modern hotel

Aloft Buffalo Airport

Stayed at the Aloft Buffalo Airport two nights. My dog and I had a room in the 5th floor. Hotel design is modern and beginning to show wear. Not traditional room layout but still nice and was clean. Bed was king size and very soft and the pillows were very fluffy not firm. Noise from airport across the road was not an issue, could hear people in hallway louder than planes takeoff and landing. There is lots of space to walk dog behind hotel which has a huge long-term parking area and runs behind some of the other hotels.

The lobby is small and has a bar and lounge area right there with music playing 24/7; there is also some patio space. The vibe is going for modern and young which I am not. Still it is a nice place to stay. I found it easier to go in and out the patio door with my dog than navigate where people were sitting and playing pool. Would stay here again. Hotel is behind the Hilton Garden Inn and a Quality Inn Motel and McDonalds. No sign on the main road to give direction to it.

Great stay

Hampton Inn & Suites Olean

Hampton Inn by Hilton Olean NY is a newer property built within the last 3 years. Hilton is new to the ‘dog friendly’ world and I am happy that they decided to allow dogs on properties. Of course each property decides but for the ones who have opted in it is a great thing. Us dog people have to show them that we can cooperate and pick up after our dogs and don’t let them pee out in front of the hotels. The dog facilities are great with two doggie waste areas along the back of the hotel. There is a large field out in front for walking away from the parking lot. The hotel is the first in the business park and so the roads have little traffic so you can walk your dog. Siemens plant backs up to the business park.

This hotel has some great amenities for humans like, pool and gym. The breakfast started early. They usually start around 7-8 am so we never get to go but this property started at 6 am - it was busy. There are EV charging stations on property. Across the street there is a gas station and quick shop. Go straight across the intersection and follow the rad to get to Walmart as well as other stores and the University not more than 5 minutes drive. Olean has a beautiful downtown area with lots of restaurants. We tried AJ Subs - the steak and the chicken parm were excellent. So nice we went there twice during our stay which was three nights at this hotel.

Hotel is clean and does get visiting sports teams for the University. The students can cause a mess. One team Basketball came out of the bus and the students dropped all the McDondalds bags around the bus while getting their bags. My dog had a party with all the fries and sodas which dropped out. Frankly I was disgusted by the behavior and picked up the bags and threw them away. Meant to say something to the bus driver the next morning but they left before me. This of course was not the hotels fault but this is how properties go from really nice, clean and welcoming to a place you wouldn’t let your worst enemy stay at.

Anyway, the staff was friendly and nice during our stay. Housekeeping was on demand, which I like that way I don’t have to disturb my dog setup so that housekeeping can come do their thing. I just hang up my towels and make my own bed. Not difficult and you can get fresh towels at the desk if needed. The floor we were on had an Ice and Vending. They do have rooms on the first floor, but they are accessible rooms and I only will take those if there are enough for any guests who truly need. My dog is a little elevator adverse but we are working on it. He did great using the elevator as our room was on the third floor. If your in Olean look out for the Squirrels. It’s an art project and they are placed around town. If I ever find myself in Olean again I will definitely stay at this Hampton Inn by Hilton.

Hiltons now dog friendly

Homewood Suites by Hilton Rochester - Victor

Stayed a long weekend at the Homewood Suites in Fishers/Victor NY due to a dog sports trial. The hotel itself while clean is showing its age and is worn. As you can see from the photo the molding on the bottom of the dresser was missing. Still stay was comfortable, clean and with a Lab it gave them some room to stretch out. The room was on first floor by an exterior door. This hotel is located at the back of a small business park. There was lots of space to walk the dog with lots of green space, to run dog on 30 ft. long line, at the end of the driveway by the office buildings next door. Road traffic was only people going to hotel on weekends, so I was not concerned too much walking the dog at night or early morning. The hotel does back up to the NYS Thruway on one side. The wing I was on was not. The only noise was from people using the exterior door and trying to find the elevator at the other end of the hall.

A few other dogs were staying and while the doggie poop area was really small, some people just let there dogs go on the landscaping or right by the entrance door; they also failed to pick up after their dogs. One reason hotels start banning dogs is for this. Come on people! So if you stay here there is a $75 dog fee per stay under 4 days. That beats what some others charge as a per day fee. Hiltons in the past have not been dog friendly. It great to see such a big chain welcome dogs. Hotel staff was pleasant. Coffee and tea available in lobby 24/7. Free breakfast which I did not take advantage of but it was the make your own waffles stuff. Kitchenette in room so you can make meals or reheat stuff. Also saw some delivery. Fast food and casual chain restaurants all nearby. I would stay here again.

Always a nice to stay at Marriott

Residence Inn Syracuse Carrier Circle

Room was clean and spacious. It is right next to Courtyard and adjacent to Beat Western. They is no designated dog space or poop drop but the Courtyard had a poop can and so did the Best Western. Had a king room, 2nd floor, quiet. There were other dogs staying at same time. I saw at least 6. They have these great little signs to put on your door stating that pets are inside. Housekeeping is on demand. Left each morning prior to breakfast. Pool was undergoing maintenance but it was clearly stated on their website. Ruby Tuesdays within walking distance. Several fast food places nearby as well as gas and convenience stores. There was no EV plug in which surprises me for a “residence” hotel. Nearest one was at Best Western and Candlewood Suites. I did notice that there were plugs like the sort RVs use back by the dumpster area. We had a great stay. Will stay here again on a future trip.

Unfortunate occurrence during stay

Courtyard Parsippany

The reason I am giving this three bones is that during last night of stay there was a vehicle accident on westbound lane of Rte 46 just down from the hotel which took down the power lines. Car fire, poles on fire, big response from authorities. Beginning at about 7:30 pm on a over 90 degree humid day in May 2022. While the hotel is not responsible for the power outage the response to the outage is source of dissatisfaction. No attempt was made by manager or staff to inform guests that the power would be out for the night. Power was still out at 9am next day upon check out.

No elevator, pool, hot water. Did not come and knock to check on us, offer ice or bottles of water, arrange for alternate accommodations or anything. Only by going to the desk did I find out if you choose to not stay you would be refunded. Note the Hampton Inn and the Fairfield Inn next door were also in similar no power situations with their guests. Many guest were able to leave. Problem - I was there with my dog.

Called Marriott Bonvoy reservation line who tried to find me an alternative but everything within reasonable distance nearby was taken. So I stayed, let’s just call it glancing at @$150 night. Minus this experience overall the room 115 was clean. I had requested a first floor room in hindsight this was a wise choice because my dog is petrified of stairs. Room had plenty of towels and pillows, sheets clean.
There is a larger grassy area behind the ‘courtyard’ I walked my dog. There were two exits, we could use out to the parking area so going for the early/late pee break was not a big hassle. I would recommend trying to get a room on the inside as these rooms had sliders which go out directly to the courtyard which would have been nice.

I must say that people are disgusting, leaving trash and cigarette bits all over the parking lot and right outside the doors. It seems like the hotel staff does try to keep the property up. In the room there was some minor damage and wear to the couch and stains, closet door and cabinet door for refrigerator which I documented prior to my dog entering. I always leave the dog in the car to inspect room. There is a bistro on site with limited hours and no free breakfast or even water. Go to the gym to fill water bottle from the water cooler. The hotel is modern but it is beginning to show signs of wear. I would stay here again, it is just unfortunate that hotel management did not put the ‘hospitality’ into the stay and make a unfortunate situation better for its guests in their response to it.

Great place

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Middletown - Goshen an IHG Hotel

Newer property (2020) Nice rooms, clean. We left before breakfast started. They had coffee and tea available all day/night. Nice lobby area and had tables which some families were using to play games and eat dinner. Hotel has some property around it to walk your dog. We happened to get a room on the 3rd floor facing highway. My dog is not a fan of elevators. Gym and pool on first floor. Could hear some noise from highway but it wasn’t horrible. There were some noisy guest we could hear. There is a Quick Check on the corner so picking up snacks and gassing up real close. They also had some electric vehicle charging stations. So you can charge vehicle and walk to hotel. We will probably stay here again for future dog sport trials if prices are within budget.

Good value for the money

Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Boston - Mansfield/ Foxboro

Booked this Red Roof for one night while attending a dog trial. $80 Arrived late and was given one of the handicap rooms on the ground level. Double room, with a handicap bathroom. Other than the bathroom which was HUGE the room was pretty much the same as others. Room was clean and had faux wood tile floors except for by the bed which was carpet. The pillows were marked soft and firm but I found the firm ones soft. The beds also seemed to be one firmer than the other, again maybe it was me but I did find them clean and comfortable. This hotel doesn't have a breakfast or even coffee in lobby (downside). Does have in room coffee maker. Down the hall by reception was vending machines which did generate some noise from guests who were loud while making selection other than that the noise from the lobby late at night wasn't heard. Being on the ground floor, front, you do hear passerby's and cars but arrived so late that this was not an issue. Parking lot brightly lit, lots of parking in back with a rear entrance. Lots of space to walk dogs along with poop station for disposal. There is an outside pool which was closed due to COVID protocols. Turning left out of the parking lot is a supermarket, Stop and Shop. Turning right and going to the stoplight and straight is a Starbucks. Nearby are also some restaurants, by turning left onto 140 and going under the overpass. This hotel is located on the edge of a small corporate park. I would stay here again if ever back this way for another dog trial.
