Paws on Pelham is a gem
Paws on PelhamFor my first getaway in a long time and my dog’s first ever vacation, Paws on Pelham did not disappoint. Allison greeted us at the door for our early check in and showed us the lay of the land. The room (#5) was bright and clean, and the bathroom alone was quite beautiful. Bailey was inspecting the dog houses but his favorite area was probably the window seat/bench where he had a great view of Pelham Street. Parking was convenient and just under 2 blocks up the street. Across from the parking lot is Touro Park which was ideal for walks and taking care of doggy business. I met Ebony at the café where she explained all about their process for breakfast. This breakfast was not just your average grab n go— there were breakfast sandwiches, hash browns, pastry, fruit, juices, oatmeal (everyone’s favorite! *wink wink*) were all available. The Ruff Top Deck had great views as well as the porch and patio out front provided a nice outdoor area. Also the side patio with the landscaping gave the impression you were in a secluded garden far from the hustle of Newport. I could go on but I think I’ve hit the character limit. In short, Bailey and I would definitely make a return trip.
Deck with a view
The Deck Restaurant & BarFrom the moment we walked up the ramp, my dog was greeted with a bowl of water and a friendly face. One of the busboys brought us an ice filled water dish at our table as well. The waiter offered (which wasn’t free, but I wasn’t expecting it to be) a chicken flavored broth for my dog as well. All in all it was a very nice evening and I’m sure we’ll be back.
