Great stay
Towneplace Suites by Marriott StreetsboroI realized when I walked in the front door that I had stayed here before. Glad to be back. They have a good spot to walk the dogs on the side of the hotel. Room was nice and clean with a little kitchenette. A nice welcome note awaited me on the bedside table which I traded for a $20 bill. Don't forget to tip your housekeepers, they deserve it!
Very welcoming
Home2 Suites by Hilton Youngstown West/AustintownGreat spot not too far off the Ohio Turnpike. My room was huge (I ended up in a handicapped room) - two Queens, a sleeper sofa, and kitchenette. It was nice to bring the coolers in and put things in the fridge and re-freeze the ice packs! Super nice staff who gave each of my dogs a gift bag with treats, a tennis ball, and poop bags. Nice grassy spot on side of hotel to let dogs move. There is a large field behind the hotel if you trust your dogs off leash. Several chain restaurants to eat nearby as well (although I did not try them).
Filthy and nothing short of dangerous
Rodeway Inn & Suites Monroeville - PittsburghThis place is disgusting. Floors were filthy. Sheets had not been cleaned, they still had wrinkles from the previous guest. Bathroom not cleaned - hair in sink and on toilet. Police had to be called because of a disturbance. No "free breakfast" as advertised - not even coffee. And the girl at the desk in the morning was a typical lazy American kid with the personality of a rock. Refrigerator did not work. I had to go to front desk to get cleaning supplies to even feel good enough to use the bathroom. Mopped floors with the towels (see photos). Trash throughout parking lot. Don't go here. Choice Hotels should be ashamed. There have been two murders at this Rodeway Inn in 2022.
Not the Ritz Carlton, but neither is the price!
Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Pittsburgh East - MonroevilleIt's difficult to find a hotel that will take me and my three dogs. Through BringFido I was able to find the Red Roof Plus. It is right off of Pennsylvania turnpike and very convenient. The rooms are what you would expect in this price range. The good thing is they had wood style floors and I did not have to worry about walking around on dirty carpet or if one of my dogs were to have made a mistake. (They didn't!). Super nice front desk staff, enough grassy area to walk your dog and even complimentary poop bags. They had a very watchful security guard and I felt safe walking around the premises late at night with my dogs. The place is not much to look at but the fact that I have my three dogs with me in a clean room and feel safe makes up for it. I'll stay here again when I make this trip.
Best hotel for dogs!
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Bowling Green an IHG HotelThe people were SO nice! There is a great walking area behind and on the side of the hotel and they even provide poop bags. My two dogs were able to play with another young dog and had a wonderful romp before we got back on the road. I cannot recommend this Holiday Inn express enough.
Best park I've ever visited
Short Pump Dog ParkThere are two large fenced areas for large and small dogs. They use artificial turf specifically for pets, do no mud. The county keeps it clean and in good condition!
