Charlie is our female GSD born Spring 2021. Her mama was rescued after being abandoned in the desert here in California when she was pregnant with Charlie's litter. We are so lucky to have her in our family now. Her first trip from home was to Truckee and Lake Tahoe where she enjoyed the beach and a float down the Truckee river. She enjoys the Brea Dog Park and her Day Camp. She is our first dog.

Convenient Location in Anaheim

Camp Bow Wow Anaheim

We have used the day camp twice this week and both times I felt comfortable leaving my 4mo in their care. The staff are friendly and communicative during drop offs and pick ups. I love the live web cams, I can check in on my puppy to make sure she is happy! I like the set up where the dogs can go in and outside as they please and that the outdoor areas seem interesting to a dog. They do hose and water play. The second day she was there they had watermelon as a snack. The camp counselors monitor the play and pick up messes as soon as they happen. I am very pleased with this day camp and will continue to bring my pup in the future!

Beautiful Area

Kiva Beach

We love Tahoe, this was our first time bringing our dog. This was the nicest dog beach we visited and were able to put her in a day camp to visit even nicer beaches during our trip. Everything I did not like about this beach is why dogs are not allowed on all beaches. The sand had a poo/pee smell in some areas and almost all dogs are off leash - not all well behaved. Overall we would return here when we are in Tahoe again. For being a dog beach it was good.

Loved Everything About This Day

Truckee River Rafting

My husband, my 3 yr old son, our 4mo old German Shepherd Charlie and myself absolutely loved this activity. Bring a soft shell cooler with your fav beverages and snacks and enjoy a relaxing day on the river. The company is so cool that they allow dogs, we brought our own life jacket for Charlie since it would be easier to get her back in the boat if she jumped out. We took our time, normally takes 2-3 hours but we took 4 hours by stopping along the river to drink, eat, and take a dip!

Very Rocky

Kings Beach State Recreation Area

Dogs are not allowed on the beach, only on a rocky area at the end of the sandy beach area. If you are already there or passing by it is nice for your dog to be able to take a dip but this should not be considered a destination at all. I am sure the pups don't mind but it is not a comfortable area for humans to sunbath or relax.

Revitalized and Amazing now

Wildcatters Dog Park

This park went through a huge revitalization and was completely overhauled. There is fake grass throughout with sprinklers that keep it clean. The trees are mature and there is nice shade in the late afternoons in the small dogs area. I haven't tried the large dogs area yet because my German Shepherd is still only 4 months old and not ready.

Across the Street from a Park

Cielo Hotel Bishop - Mammoth Ascend Hotel Collection

This was a clean and nice place to stay for the night on our way up to Tahoe. Several places to eat within walking distance, Schat's Bakery and Holy Smoke Texas BBQ. The city park is directly across the street and was great for early morning bathroom break. There is not a lot of grass around the hotel at all but there is a small patch in front of the lobby.
