I’ve been solo camping at Bear Island for years, shortly after getting Scout and realizing his love for paddling, I began having him accompany me on this trip. Park staff are fantastic. Paddle in sites are perfect for doggos as there is shade (ferry/hike sites not so much). Plenty of sandbars for them to run around. Only downside is no dogs allowed on the ferry or in the bath house, however there are several outdoor showers with lower shower heads for feet and doggos.
