Beautiful Garden area - Great for Pets

Pekadill's

This place was so lovely we ate there twice! The garden area is a beautiful garden setting with ponds and lush greenery. Shady spots and nice tucked away areas as well. SUPER friendly staff that go out of their way to assist. Food is great as well. Ice cream is awesome! They have water bowls set out for the dogs which is a nice touch. This is also good for a semi-reactive dog to go...you can tuck away in a little nook and it helps keep them from focusing on other dogs too much. Also would be good for a first time patio diner/training opportunity since its nice and spread out. Overall our girl did fantastic!

Great for dogs - just ok for the humans

Weathervane Inn

The good: Great dog friendly location. Right next to a 22mile walking trail that goes through town so its easy to catch a nice walk, poop bags provided at beginning of trail and super easy access to take pup out. Park just over the bridge is perfect for a game of fetch on a long line (leash law in effect) and beach by the lighthouse is dog friendly. We also enjoyed nearby North Grove Brewers dog friendly patio and great tacos. For humans, it was just ok - mostly clean but could have been cleaner (bugs in the Jacuzzi tub). The balcony was nice but tons of cobwebs and bugs all over - I get it, lakeside but it needs pressure washed badly. One of the biggest issue was the spot light right outside our balcony for the hotel sign made it look like daylight all night. Very disruptive sleep. We were on the lake facing side, not marina side so I imagine the other side is better. Lots of road traffic when enjoying the balcony too - I didn't realize what a busy road it was on. It's an old building in need of some upgrading in the rooms but they ARE charging an upgraded price. Breakfast was bleak so don't rely on it - only packaged pastries and bagels. Coffee was decent in the lobby. It was very expensive for a facility that I would compare to a Quality Inn.....179 weeknight and 251 weekend fee plus 20 per night for pet meant we spent 857 for a 3 night stay after taxes. Again it was good for dogs, but we won't be back. I will give 4 bones on here for the dogs, but my other review on booking will be a 3 at best.
